End DEI

Rufo was effective. I will take effective over polite.
Then our politics will remain hopelessly fractured.

I do understand your point. But I think what we all desire is something of a monoculture with many shades of color and heritage. The binding forces are civility and common understanding. And those birds flew a long time ago. Rufo may be helping with a common understanding but one doesn’t work without the other.

Well then Kendi worked the HELL out of the system didn't he?

Doesn't make it right, either way.
Yes he did and no it doesn't.

But let's not feign outrage when others do it because it works.

I hate the idea of DEI for two reasons. First, it is telling women and non whites that they can't make it on their merits. They need some help. So they have to live with the DEI label. It means they don't get the respect in the work place because they and everyone else knows they are only there because they had an advantage.
On the other hand what does DEI do to those who are truly meritorious? Does a white man who is very good at his job not get the job because a DEI hire cut in front of him? What does he do now especially when he has a family? If I were in his position I would fee very low emotionally because I did everything I was supposed to do and could not get a chance.
What is the bottom line in America? We are all supposed to have an equal chance to compete in the marketplace. DEI destroys all of that.
You guys have Legacy but no one is talking about that or trying to take it away. Merit means nothing because it does not mean anything to you.

Merit means the best person gets the job. You don't agree with that? So if a man is up against a black woman and he is qualified far more than she is then shouldn't he get the job?

Hiring IMO isn't a exact science in spite of what Human Resource people may tell you :).

Thus it is only after someone has actually been on the job can an evaluation be made. Candidates who seemed ideal don't pan out and visa versa.

IMO the hiring pool is sometimes better served in the case of some businesses when the pool is diversified. Just good for business.

If that were true , i would agree with you. 2 many times sons,. son-in-law,, cousins, nephews and just plain white folks get jobs that qualified POC do not get. That's why they are taking away the ability for POC to get their foot in the door.

It is always funny to you , you are living in a whitebread world.

If you're a troll, you can ignore what follows. If you're actually a pastor, you disgust me with your ignorance and anti-Christian stance.

First, I have no idea what you're talking about when you refer to employees "living with a DEI label." Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 makes it illegal for employers (with 15 or more employees) to discriminate against applicants and employees based on race, color, national origin, sex, religion and other characteristics. DEI initiatives (including training) in the workplace help companies comply with the law. DEI supports the very opposite of what you claim when you state that "DEI ... means they don't get the respect in the workplace." On the contrary, DEI training and related policies help ensure that everyone in the workplace receives the respect they deserve. Numerous studies have shown that DEI initiatives fuel employee innovation, creativity, engagement, collaboration, productivity, retention and, ultimately, the bottom line. Also, DEI initiatives reduce the risk of workplace discrimination and the costly litigation that often follows.

We've made significant progress since 1964 but discrimination in the workplace has hardly disappeared. The EEOC, in fiscal year 2023, filed 143 merit lawsuits and resolved 98 merit suits, recovering almost $23 million for 968 people who were victims of employment discrimination. I'm providing a link to one of the cases below. Educate yourself and stop with the nonsense. DEI initiatives in the workplace serve multiple important purposes.

Is self-fulfilling. Van is worried about the label these people have to live with because folks like Van bestow the label upon them.

Shit that is peanuts compared to the historical number of claimants who got a right to sue letter. My guess is discrim claims are second only to pi suits the past 20 years

It’s going to be a long couple years. I got them back when they were on the cusp of adulthood, when things start to get better. And they were delightful, funny , smart, the absolute best. They think you are the stupidest, most out of touch person in the world, who has no idea what it’s like to be young for about 4 or 5 years. Then they get on their own and start to realize you might be right about some things. And the hormones don’t help! But little minion is being good?

Yeah she got her period last month. Turns 14 in sept. But I’m not kidding. This girl was just a joy to be around. My shadow. My little perfect angel. And overnight. Mean. Selfish. Stink eye to both me and her mom. Just like a different person. Her friends are everything. The rest of us are a nuisance

Yeah he’s great. Like the good lord threw us a bone.

How’s that ride of yours? Cruising weather?

Oh man. It drives like a dream. Had the top down several times. I had no idea it had as much horsepower and torque ( didn’t know what that meant) and don’t care. But what they didn’t tell me that I do care about is it has massaging seats!!!!! I I got to be pretty buddy buddy to my sales guy and I’ve been giving him tips on the difference in selling to a man vs a woman. Generally speaking. Lol
It will definitely be friends first for awhile. And boys. And she’ll be embarrassed you even exist. I still feel guilty about how I treated my parents for a few years.

Brother, I'm gonna be going through my 3rd daughter starting her period in a couple years.

Family dinners can be real enjoyable for me at times.

Is the pancreatitis something she can outgrow? Have surgery for?

Do they at least turn on each other. Like Pomeranians and forget you?

I get one of two things from mine now. Stink eye or I need money

There are occasions where they'll gang up, but they're all overlapped. I just keep the convo to simple topics like the weather or how good the food is. Wtay away from how their days going, things they can complain about.

I get the stink eye and asked for money at the same time. It's easier on my soul to just open my wallet and ask how much they need.

I’m on the cusp of the same Boogie. But if I’m being perfectly honest, my daughters have been pretty easy teenagers. Sure there are moments, but it’s no all encompassing.

That’s a miracle. I don’t know how you and boogie do it with 3

I’d love to have had three daughters. They’re so great from 0-teenager. Plus, you’re pretty much guaranteed one of them will take care of you when you’re old.
Yeah mine really was just a perfect perfect kid. But damn she flipped that script overnight. So with her pancreatitis the specialist told her that if she ever vapes or smokes her chance of getting cancer goes up 400 percent. Alcohol not as bad but that goes way up too. So perhaps a small silver lining as she would certainly have been the (oh my god I had 3 icehouses I’m so wasted. You guys. I’m so wasted. Brian did you hear me. I had three icehouses. I’m wasted. Right now)
