These are parole admitees. Not the same as immigrants who plan make a life here.
Why not?
To qualify for parole entry, you must have:
1) A humanitarian reason for entering the county (Check - Haiti is not a happy place at this time)
2) You must have a supporter in the US (Check, the reason that they are congregating in one location is because there is an established community there of friends / family. And yes, other asylees / refugees currently living in the US qualify for this status)
3) Undergo a security vetting process (Check, or at least I would hope so)
4) Meet eligibility criteria (vaccinations, provide their own transportation, etc. Again, I would assume Check.)
5) Warrant a favorable exercise of discretion (ie. what are you going to bring to the US, which in this case is the Haitian person indicating that they intend to find work in the Springfield area....so Check?)
That seems to be the process that these Haitians are following. What part of the definition are you objecting to?

There are fewer FIRST TIME criminals among immigrants, as opposed to natural born citizens. Both violent and nonviolent crimes. Both ARRESTS and convictions.

Maybe in my slice of the world I get a skewed opinion. The vast majority of people I see hurting either have f—-d themselves or have an adequate social safety net.
