Are players allowed to workout for NBA teams now, or does that happen at the conclusion of the NBA season? I am curious if any of our players have received any interest or invited to any player combines. I thought I saw Romeo mentioned at an NBA event where his size and weight were documented.

I understand that the players have until 5 days after the draft, or June 25th, to return to school. How many will see little interest and pull out prior to June 20th?

Workouts are happening now and the combine just ended.

May 29th is the NCAA early entry withdrawal deadline so if anyone is coming back to school, we will know by then.

To add to the idiocy of this process, June 10th is the NBA early entry withdrawal deadline. So if you wait until then, you can't come back to school. I assume this has something to do with international players instead of US players.

Here's another stupid question. Do players like all IU ones that declared to draft except Romeo get feedback from NBA scouts if they do NOT get invited to combine or have workouts with a NBA team?

Yes, that is my understanding. How that works or what that looks like, I'm not 100% sure, but they do get feedback from NBA teams.

I have no inside info but the feedback is in enough detail that the players have an idea about their weaknesses, what needs to be done to reach the next level, and if they are draftable or not.
It is the reason that I think it is smart of players to declare, get the info, then come back. I think all of our guys, minus Romeo, will come back.

Yea, I totally get it and would do the same if I were them and of course they are coming back unless they transfer.

I am curious if no feedback is considered feedback? I would only expect feedback if invited to a team workout or the combine. If you aren't invited, who would take the time to talk to you? I could see an agent talking to teams on behalf of the player.

I remember looking up my cousin on the NCAA list of eligible players after his senior year. I was surprised it included him as a D2 player. He could have been drafted if they had 20 - 30 rounds.

Smith: IMPROVE YOUR SHOOTING, Better decision making and energy/commitment on the court and on D.

Greene: better decision making, improve ball handling and PG skills.

Durham: keep improving shooting and strength. Need to improve ball handling and passing and prove your a PG at the NBA level.

Sheesh, maybe I'm an NBA scout!

There are CEOs of major public corporations who don't know what their weaknesses are.

Realistic self-awareness isn't easy, particularly when one has had easy success at almost every level of their playing career and has no opportunity to assess and understand in detail what other players offer.

Smith declaring for the NBA draft is the most head scratching decision yet. NBA scout, you better grab every rebound like Rodman, because you can't shoot.

i don't believe most ceos earn their keep in physical battles with their peers but i may be wrong

besides, i think most of us here can tell aljami and devonte what they need to make it in the nba and it would be the same as what the nba scouts would tell them
