I don't buy/sell cars. I buy examples of less common models to enjoy. They appreciate if maintained correctly. I bought the frc to drive and keep the miles down on my '91 ZR-1.And I bet it has more power than the car you sold it for had underneath its
A buddy I went to school with, back when “homegrown” was a derogatory word, later in life told me he recently purchased a Corvette Stingray. I ran into him about a year or so later when he commented about the fancy car he know longer had. All he had to say was, “Well, I got THAT out of my system.” I interrupted his response as a move in the right direction towards conquering his mid-life crises demons
One more, then I’ll let you go…
My second ex-wife’s younger sister (very hot looking, more so than my second ex-wife but I never told her that…my wife, that is) once uttered at the dinner table, “If an auto is analogous to a human body part, the Corvette would be the penis.” I assumed a rather large one of abnormal length and girth of eye-popping thickness. Today remarried, whenever I see a flashy Corvette, I visualize a swollen member on four wheels, cruising down the highway on full display. I always wonder what its driver must feel, deep inside.
The body count would be easy if not for all the carnage left behind.I don't buy/sell cars. I buy examples of less common models to enjoy. They appreciate if maintained correctly. I bought the frc to drive and keep the miles down on my '91 ZR-1.
I enjoy working on and showing them.
As for your projection, immaturity may account for the ex-wives body count....
George Strait once said all my Ex's live in Texas, I bet yours reside in institutions. The body count would be easy if not for all the carnage left behind.
I’ve heard the term “passive-aggressive” directed towards my vicinity. Whenever my second ex-wife (SEX-wife) got really upset with me, I would run to the CD stereo to play Elvis’ “Peace in the Valley” gospel song. “Really upset” would suddenly morph to “royally pissed off,” as I knew it would.
“Narcissistic numbskull” was another one muttered by another my way. It pairs well with my Delusions of Grandeur, named after 18th century British clinical psychologist, Gerry B. Grandiose.
“My Way” (Frank Sinatra ver.) will be the third song played at my “celebration” of death by the living.

I know Cindy a little, but know people who know her well ( sorority sisters). They really like her and I would be equally surprised if she was inserting herself into coaching decisions.Couple things to point out to you...
There are a couple of different "Simon" factions. All related, but seemingly all have their own money to throw around.
Herb owns the Pacers soley. Cindy is Melvin's daughter. David (current CEO of namesake company) is another Melvin child. Neither of them have much, if anything, to do with the Pacers. Herb's son Steve is the heir apparent there.
If you think Herb has been a poor owner, I would suggest to you that you are naïve. The Simon's bought the Pacers essentially as a charitable donation. Herb is now the longest tenured owner in NBA history and is going to get into the NBA hall of fame. Compared to other middle market teams- the Pacers have been one of the most, if not the most consistent for the past 30 years. You'll never hear a player, coach, anybody say a bad thing about Herb. Larry Bird loves them man, what else do you need to know.
As far as Democratic donations.... They've been democrats forever. Get over it. $300k is peanuts. Downtown Indy would not be what it (the good parts included!) is if the Simons weren't part of the community. Circle Center at the time was a huge deal and set off a dominio effect that hey... maybe downtown Indy isn't so bad! Does the mall suck now? Ya, but that has way more to do with the fact that urban malls in medium sized cities don't have a great track record.
Your old adage is not inaccurate. But Herb Simon is one of the most generous, humble, kind billionaires you could ever meet. I don't know anything about Cindy though. David is an asshole, so maybe it runs on that side of the family. I highly, highly doubt she is inserting herself into administrative decisions as that would be very counter to the family's low-key M.O., but I could be wrong.
JHS, Malik, MM, Ware…. TJD coming back for senior year.what proof of this great NIL success do we have? its repeated many times on here how far ahead of everyone else we are. I haven't seen it on the court, haven't seen it with the likes of Boogie Fland and Derek Queen
Kurt, I don't always agree with your comments but this time you're spot on.control of what? the name on the building has more value with a winning team. The problems at IU started well before Cindy Simon got involved. and what would be her interest in protecting Buckner and Woodson? Buckner does Pacer games but don't see another connection. just like everyone was saying Woodson was gone a week or so ago, this shit on the internet is just that shit. I could almost guarantee you the Simons are not as involved as you think. I said at the time the people I knew weren't talking about him being fired.
not sure how to take that, thanks I guess.Kurt, I don't always agree with your comments but this time you're spot on.
Having your name on a building is a bit different than wanting control. You think Mellencamp wants to control the football program? Cuban wants to control the sports media department? They want to win? Or they want control? I’m not convinced one way or the other. If they were just generous philanthropists, would they really need their names plastered all over Assembly Hall?
I'm sure they were all compensated very well. but there are probably 60 programs that could have compensated them just as well as IU has. my point is people act as if we are head and shoulders above everyone else. I'm not so sure that's the case. throw football in the mix and I guarantee you we are behind a ton of schools.JHS, Malik, MM, Ware…. TJD coming back for senior year.
I’m not sure about that. Getting Ware and MM the same year likely took quite a bit of $$$. NIL money is listed publicly. I can’t remember where I saw it but we were top 10 in country.I'm sure they were all compensated very well. but there are probably 60 programs that could have compensated them just as well as IU has. my point is people act as if we are head and shoulders above everyone else. Welcome to the Anonymous Assembly Hall, sounds like a place most of you think I need to go to, possibly top 10 post of all time. The most commendable donors are those listing themselves “anonymous.” These are the true givers, free of recognition in return.
not doubting you but why would it be listed publicly; how would anyone know a lot of these deals the athletes can negotiate themselves. now the collective you may be right. but the side deals who knows.I’m not sure about that. I mean total amount of NIL, but I’ve also seen estimates of players. I’ll see if I can find it. Duke, UK and Kansas can selll their program without as much money , they can sell being a viable champion every year etc. IM sure they have plenty of money too though.not doubting you but why would it be listed publicly; how would anyone know a lot of these deals the athletes can negotiate themselves. now the collective you may be right. but the side deals who knows.
bringing in 2 5 stars sure it was costly, but Duke UK Kansas bring in 3-5 every year.
Na, a Corvette is a poor man's Porsche among car guys that like cars that handle. What a lot of people don't get is that it doesn't have to be "write me a ticket red" or some flashy color ... some people just assume that person wants attention when what they want was a reliable classic and don't give a crap ... will get it painted or trade up eventually. A FRC Corvette is a fantastic buy as a handling car with as much power as you need. It's the dudes in the ginormous $100K pickup trucks for absolutely no reason that have the Viagra issuesAnd I bet it has more power than the car you sold it for had underneath its

Don't let anybody give you crap about mid-life crisis stuff. Hang onto that car! I know what they are, it WILL appreciate only. In ten years, prediction, that car will be the equivalent of where the hypo 327 C3's or early ZR1's are now. I could have retired a few years early had I held onto an S54 Z3M DINAN with 40K on it ... 365HP in a go-kart, still have seller's remorse, will forever. That cammed LS1 Corvette frc sitting in my garage, which I bought with MONEY, provides all the 'happiness' I can handle...
I kind of agree. My GF was in the same class. Reports nothing extraordinary. Nothing big, nothing little. Average is a good word. I wondered how long it would take in this thread for someone to bring up their faith. You did not disappoint. Thanks for stereotype. Had they been "Christian" it would not have been mentioned. The majority of those of Jewish faith have been Democrats forever. It should come to no one's surprise. The Democratic party traditionally caters to those identifying themselves as oppressed.
I suspect they may also be making it harder for owners or third parties to service the cars.I guess Lexus wants to stay away from the BMW phenomena of people bricking their car with mods and tuning.
My church has trees...'nuff said!I wondered how long it would take in this thread for someone to bring up their faith. You did not disappoint. Thanks for stereotype. Had they been "Christian" it would not have been mentioned.

That model was only available with a manual. Solid top version. Originally it was supposed to be a stripped version of the C5 but they chickened out. Didn’t want to “cheapen” the vette.Hopefully it's a manual...

I built a 2000 Camaro. Did 550ish. I also helped on a 99 vette. It had 180 degree headers. That makes the best music. My GN is a real deal mid 11 second car. I’m going to do the E85 stuff at some point. The FRC I bought has the bolt-ons to bring it up to Z06

Love those. People assume it’s the same engine. But…those had different heads , intercooler, crossed drilled crank, rods,, pistons, SG1 block. It was a serious project all its own.I had a 1989 anniversary trans am with that turbo 6, unmodded, and it was low 13’s. 11’s is moving it.
