Ballo, Galloway and Rice have been on fire the last couple games. Goode is now contributing much more than earlier in the season.

What changed, in your opinion? You say the coaches "can't seem to get the most out of the players," so what was it that caused the change in those four players?
The injury of Malik number 5 made Woody move away from high/low big action that is surprisingly, along with a pick and roll at top of the key, are the main tenets to his offensive system. Insertion of Goode into starting line up made us into a semi modern 4 out 1 in offense. When 5 returns we will see if Woody changes.

You’re telling me that if Mike Woodson ends up winning 23-24 games and gets a top 3/4 seed in the tournament this year the fan base is going to do a universal 180? Bull effing shit. Once you lose this fan base, you’re done.

Archie lost the fan base before the end of year 2 and it was effectively over for him from there. Underwood was given the chance to continue to grow and look where he’s at now.
Maybe, maybe not. But there’s a chance he’d be given an extension if he did those things. And then if he won the B10 next year. And finished top few in B10 after that and went to an elite 8…yeah, lots would flip “back” towards supporting him. That would be 4-5 years straight of the levels of success we’re all pining for. And when we get to those levels, our fanbase goes bonkers.

Since RMK we’ve never had a 4-5 year run, consecutive, of being top couple in the conference.

Few of us are unrealistic. Doesn’t mean we should just sit back and enjoy mediocre basketball.

Reneau getting hurt and Woodson using only one big man opens up the floor for him (Ballo) and the shooters and drivers. It seems like the coach recognized that after the fans.
Wow. So, you're flat-out admitting that Woodson made a change by a coaching decision that improved the performance of Ballo, Galloway and Rice. There is no other way to read your post.

“Over night” is certainly less than 4 years, regardless of exceptions. And no coach has gotten less than 4 years (outside Sampson for obvious reasons). And the ones that showed flashes of elite potential, got more than 4 years.

I do think you’re right, that when IUs base turns on a coach it’s over. I just don’t think that’s unique to IU. And there’s zero reason to hang on to coaches, regardless of the mood of the fan base, when it’s clear your current coach isn’t capable of getting IU back to where IU has been in the past.
Y-A-W-N.

I don't give a flea's ass if our coaches "lose the fan base."

I just don't want them to lose the games.

We are 14-3 going into the Iowa game tonight. I don't like many of Woodson's tactics, but we are in fact 14-3. It is just silly to talk about "losing the fan base" like it matters more than losing games.

Are you watching the game tonight as you drink? Your reading comprehension seems a bit off.
