Come on man, are you giving up a job that pays you 1 mil a year because someone above you of the food chain gives you marching orders?
I know I wouldn't.
No one here knows what the specifics are with the Woodson hire.
What we do know for a fact is SD singled out Buckner for his help or facilitation (can't remember the exact wording) of communication with Woodson.
We also know about Fife and Matta being hired. Have you ever seen something like that in the past?
For me those actions speak volumes about who was responsible for this hire.
You’re right that most people wouldn’t walk away from a high-paying job over a disagreement, and I don’t blame Dolson for staying in his role. That said, my point is less about whether Dolson should have resigned and more about accountability and leadership. As an athletic director, your job isn’t just to manage the day-to-day operations of the department; it’s to set a vision for the program and make decisions that align with that vision. If Dolson truly didn’t support the Woodson hire but went along with it anyway, it raises legitimate questions about how much autonomy he has in his role. Is he making decisions based on his own expertise and judgment, or is he simply carrying out the wishes of others? And if it’s the latter, how effective can he be in leading the program forward?
