Does Archie get the opportunity to be Tony Bennett?

It is up to you.
I don't know if he's the answer or not, but for God's sake let the man have a chance to build something.

Seen another thread about Chris Beard. Think he's a great coach - if we were needing one I'd say go after him. But if we were to fire Archie today and try to hire him just what do you think he'd say? It's Indiana?

He’d say, you want me to be Tony Bennett.

Crean went to FF and how did his “build” go. People need to stop acting like Miller didn’t have any players and all the other excuses. We lost 12/13! That should be a big deal to people.

We also had a fractured locker room. That - and a lack of leadership - more than anything killed us this year.

It is pretty normal to have to iron things out at the start of a new regime. We had Crean leftovers, Crean's sub par last recruiting class, a bunch of freshman, and a grad transfer. It shouldn't be too hard in the future to not lose 12 of 13: if IU wins half of those, they are in NCAA's.

Heard several reports today of incidents involving Romeo and Green. If true, would go a long way towards explaining the fractured locker room.

Sure, take Archie to washington st or virginia and he could be Tony Bennett or whoever he or you want him to be. Indiana is no Washington St or Virginia! There should be no on job training!

If any of that stuff is even a third true then I'm surprised we won 2 games in the second half of the season.

I knew he was a distraction in general with the hype but good lord, if what was said was true....let's just say my favorite comment was someone said Green should have been named team captain immediately instead of getting suspended.

Lol

Will be curious if we see the predicted guys leave.

STFU It’s two different systems you idiot. Let’s Miller get his type of players in here before judgement is passed.
Let's be clear on your stance. Was it the players or coaches fault for missing the tourney this season? You seem to blast anybody with a critique, so let's get you on record to see what's really going on.

I hold the players accountable. That being said Morgan didn’t show up every game like your best player should do or he got in foul trouble early and had to sit. I also blame injuries as part of the problem. I am not saying Miller didn’t have his faults this year. He would use up his time outs and not have any when we needed one and I don’t like how he subbed sometimes but that didn’t cost us the season.

Ok fine, I can see that, but not necessarily agree. If you hold the players accountable, then why do you go off the deep end to defend players like Smith (in other threads) in particular? Not saying you are wrong in that aspect, but why the waffling?

Where are you all seeing these rumors? I know of one that I have posted before but was told I had the wrong people involved.

When you lose 12 of 13 in a stretch, everyone shares blame IMO.

Anyone who watched this season and knows anything about basketball would not call this building something. Unless maybe he’s building a gasoline fueled dumpster fire.

These are the same people who said Crean was building something after 7-8 years though. They never learn.

Yeah, what Archie’s defenders are missing is that we badly missed living up to reasonable expectations this year. Not all bad years are created equally.

Notice that nobody was calling for his head last year. That’s because expectations weren’t high. They were higher this year and the team fell apart.

The team should’ve done much better than it did this year. And that’s on Archie. Period.

I defend him because people want to blame him for everything. It's a team sport and no one blames Morgan when he scores three points in a game or ten in another and is suppose to be our best player. I'm not saying didn't play bad and took some stupid shots during the year but so did all the other players. There's not one player on this team that didn't play bad, make stupid decisions and play lazy at times. I also am not saying Miller didn't make bad decisions either.

I know you like to run your mouth and probably didn't know what a basketball was until you went to Indiana.

Not big on rumors, but looking back on the season, I could see that. Green likes flashy and his flashy just doesn't shine. Usually ended up in turnovers/loss and Dakich ripping him for it. Two freshman come in with all the media hype and then one takes his starting job. It wasn't hard to see that Indiana had internal issues.

I could see on the court that Davis sides with Green. I saw it in the way they passed to each other.

Miller, and staff, have to have chemistry and effort fixed next season. No exceptions on that part.

There was no player taking off more plays than Smith and he was not disciplined for it.

I didn’t want to say anything because it could’ve been hearsay, but I actually heard a couple weeks ago DeVonte and Romeo got into a fight after the Michigan game.

It’s time to rally around Coach Miller and really support IU basketball. We need to ride this thing out, otherwise I fear we will continue to wallow in the mire. The last thing we need is another new hire.

Does anyone know if the PU/UV game is going to be shown again? I chose not to watch it...too much angst. I didn’t check the score until about 1 AM. It made my day and the day is still early. Now, I want to sit back, relax and savor every minute of a great played basketball game with an even greater ending. That’s just how I roll.

All of that is on Archie, he kept them and recruited useless Fitzner

Bottom line: IU had better over perform next season or Archie will lose even more of the fans. That's the bottom line, fair or not. That's life when you make $3.5M for coaching a sport.
