No, there was no control from UVA prior to the ball going across the halfcourt.

Exactly, just like the looks on the UK fans faces after Watford hit that last second shot against them here in Bloomington. One of my favorite games ever!
This was their best shot at a Final Four under Painter. Purdue teams are slow builds, guys developed over time. Teams like Duke, UK, Kansas, UNC are the elites who are penciled in as legit shots each year at a Final Four due to elite recruits like a revolving door. Unless, this run that Purdue had gets them more leverage with recruits. Who knows.

Purdue had a hell of a season. Sucks how it finished but an overtime loss to a 1 seed in the elite 8 isn't something I can get mad about. If Purdue had a quad 3 loss at our home quart in the quarterfinals of the NIT then I would be upset though.
You guys did have a great season. Your tourney games were very enjoyable as a basketball fan.

On a side note, what a great game. Tough loss for Purdue. They will be really good next season if nobody leaves early.

I agree. I believe that's what these boards are for....interaction between the fans. Hence the name "Rivals". But be careful on the football board. The mod(s) there like to delete and ban for no reason. Beware.
Never know. The same things were said after Hammons left, after biggie left, and this year after last years seniors left. It is the reason you play the games.
To be honest, I did not think that they were worth a damn back in December. I did not think they would win another game the rest of the season. What Painter did with this team since then is beyond amazing.
As far as next season, if Carsen leaves the next man up is sophomore to be Wheeler. The kid is athletic and can shoot the 3. Haarms and Williams are going to be Haarms and Wheeler. Both are going to be great big men. Eastern, although can’t shoot will still be tough to guard with his size. His junior year will be a coming out party for him. He can take his man off the dribble or post the little ones. Add in 4* Brandon Newman Purdue is in good shape for another good season.
