Might go over well with young girls.
Yea, like Ghostbusters did...
Give them Tay Tay, not some DEI reincarnation of male characters

It'll bomb just like Barbie.
They just don’t get it do they??
What happened to Depp? My daughter loves those moviesYou missed the part specifying Disney.
Woke Disney Sucks
What happened to Depp? My daughter loves those movies
Ha no!! But he’s the franchise.Uh oh... she likes bad boys!
You guys are super dumb about movies and how they are marketed. You and your boys can't even figure out who the leads of the original Pirates were. It's literally the antithesis of Barbie, a hot, white chick with money. Girls loved that.
They don't want to see a bunch of women pirates. Just like you don't want to see a bunch of dolls and drama.

I get that black people give you the icks. That's a you problem though. Not a Disney one.
The hoosboot playbook, throw racism accusations when he’s losing.perhaps you missed the thread where I stroked Denzel (who by the way represented his culture in many a movies)? I have a problem with woke decisions for DEI reasons.
Again, you probably were one of the few that saw the Ghostbusters remake and liked it. It lost $75 million.
Oh she’s going to like bad boys. You know she is.Ha no!! But he’s the franchise.
I’m literally in the bath watching tv with bubbles trying to unwind from the weekend. Missed the alarm this am. Got to school. She forgot her pills. I went back to get her pills. Brought them to the nurse. I’m sorry her name isn’t on the bottle label. I understand you have her prescription as well as a note from her doctor both of which match the med on the bottle. I’m sorry but it’s policy. Go to the pharmacy to ask for a new label go back to school. This after just a brutal weekend of the two of them.Oh she’s going to like bad boys. You know she is.

If you grow tired of Indiana and want to vacation with a toddler and a teen let me know. You can order in anything you want to eat. Just ask her
Wouldn't be the first time a remake sucked. Not sure dei reasons have anything to do with it.perhaps you missed the thread where I stroked Denzel (who by the way represented his culture in many a movies)? I have a problem with woke decisions for DEI reasons.

Sure, JDB. Feel free to act like your long history of posting here doesn't even exist if that's what it takes to make you feel better. You and Jet can pretend you understand movie financing, marketing, and distribution, too, if that makes you feel better about projecting your own issues on the actual economics of the film business. I'll just go back to financing, marketing, and distributing movies and let you guys bloviate so I don't hurt your feeling any more.perhaps you missed the thread where I stroked Denzel (who by the way represented his culture in many a movies)? Nah...Ghostbusters is a really mediocre franchise. You probably were in charge of Ghostbusters
Nah...Ghostbusters is a really mediocre franchise.
Everything but 1 has been bad. Sorry of the Jaws tale. Some movies don't play well to franchise. I am glad William Goldman never tried more Princess Brides.Nah...Ghostbusters is a really mediocre franchise.
I can go find ten articles in 2 minutes outlining how Disney has been struggling or…there’s you, shaping up to be the Outside Shooter of the movie world on the board. Feelings? You’re the one calling folks racists for bringing up Disney’s struggles….Sure, JDB. Rose, obvs.Ok, first, TMI.
Second: Chardonnay or white zin?
Hey @hoosboot, can I send you my script? It’s a thriller that starts out like Cheers with a group of men posting on a message board, arguing, kidding around, etc. until one day one of them receives a mysterious package in the mail with no return address.Sure, JDB. A Cheers like group of men on a message board? A mysterious package? Are these guys real men's men? The kind that women throw themselves at and other guys want to grab a beer with?Hey @hoosboot, can I send you my script? It’s gonna be huge.
Cool story. But if you think it is because of the casting of a few of their movies, you still wouldn't understand why Disney has been struggling.I can go find ten articles in 2 minutes outlining how Disney has been struggling or…there’s you, shaping up to be the Outside Shooter of the movie world on the board.
It has nothing to do with bringing up Disney's struggles.Feelings? You’re the one calling folks racists for bringing up Disney’s struggles….
It’s not what I think, it’s what Disney thinks. Go learn something Shooter.😉. I’ll bet with this kind of brilliant analysis you’re a regular Don Simpson. 🙄. You probably still don’t believe putting a tranny on a can hurt Bud Light.🤣Cool story. I'm guessing one of the reasons is the Marvel franchise has sucked since End Game? With the exception of the Spider-Man movies, Marvel has fizzled in terms of quality (although even those are doubles to me, not HRs). Looks like profitability has fallen off, too.Cool story. Working title is: A Death in the Dream Team. Probably need to punch it up though.A Cheers like group of men on a message board? A mysterious package? Are these guys real men's men? The kind that women throw themselves at and other guys want to grab a beer with?
I'm listening. Tell me more. :>)
All true, & look no further than Black Panther, Captain Marvel, etc. to see that people will accept leading characters & heroes that aren’t white males. But if you look beyond the Marvel IP, recent Disney animated stuff with forced inclusion themes & characters have not performed as well, & Disney has admitted as much publicly. That’s likely not the only factor, but it has been a factor, & not just by my estimation. A significant portion of the populace just doesn’t want that stuff in their kiddos’ movies/entertainment, much like the classroom. Whether it’s right, wrong, or indifferent, it has hurt the performance of Disney movies as well as Disney properties.I'm guessing one of the reasons is the Marvel franchise has sucked since End Game? Saturation of the superhero genre? Sure. But to me, that just means you have to up the writing game. They've gone in the other direction. You can see this in the Into the Spiderverse movies. Those are really well-written, game-changing animation, and they are great movies. And they didn't focus on a white main character, but used the minority version of Ultimate Spider-Man and did it really thoughtfully. I guess these aren't billion $ properties like the best live-action Marvel movies, though.
In my mind the botton line is the quality of story telling. Am I supposed to like the Black Panther because he is black or am I supposed to like him because he is forthright working for the good of his people and others? When they force their inclusions then sometimes they forsake good quality story telling. All true, & look no further than Black Panther, Captain Marvel, etc. to see that people will accept leading characters & heroes that aren’t white males. Not having Marvel blockbusters lined up to compensate for larger organizational issues certainly plays a part, but look at what Iger has done in terms of strategic restructuring to understand where the big financial issues laid.I'm guessing one of the reasons is the Marvel franchise has sucked since End Game? What are those? I’ve heard that most streaming services aren’t performing as well as they used to?Not having Marvel blockbusters lined up to compensate for larger organizational issues certainly plays a part, but look at what Iger has done in terms of strategic restructuring to understand where the big financial issues laid.
And then imagine you had three separate, large-scale streaming services smashing out content and competing against each other. That was both Disney and (to an even larger degree) WBD 18 months ago. What are those? I’ve heard that most streaming services aren’t performing as well as they used to?
