Dakich complaining about calls at Assembly Hall

I understand why you guys aren’t a fan of dickitch. He’s very critical of Indiana. I think part of it is him bitter about not being the coach, the other is he wants them to win as bad as everyone that roots for them. I always enjoy when he calls uk games because he has some funny lines and tells it like it is

Dan is one of those fans who doesn't put up with sloppy passes and lack of energy. I would say being a former coach makes it hard for him to watch a game just to enjoy it. He has to dissect what the offense and defense is doing because he thinks like a coach.

True - like when he noticed that arkansas was killing us coming out of timeouts again and scoring easily...
And they went to a press...and caused a 10 sec call and a turnover back to back...

I thought was humorous that he slipped in the score of his HS that is playing for the state finals today...showing his hometown pride.

I guess my idea of complaining is different from yours. All I heard was him talking the home court advantage that IU gets and has gotten historically.

No doubt Dakich will have the Coach of Andrean on his show this coming week. They came back and beat a good Linton/Stockton team who has a kid named Oliphant on it who is a relative of Jeff Oliphant who played at IU in the 80's.

He’s very knowledgeable about college basketball and he tells it like he sees it, even if that’s not favorable to IU. For the Indiana fans that expect him to be a homer, they come away disappointed and attack him for not being a cheerleader. Just part of the territory if you’re going to be a big time broadcaster.

Last time IU faced Arkansas in a tourney game, Dakich was coaching in it and, during a timeout, grabbed a basketball and attempted a 3 point shot. He had less control of that team than the odd man out in a Chinese Fire Drill.

But you never hear Dickich talk about the calls any other team gets at home. You don't think Wisconsin is getting calls at home? If they get 3 fouls called on them in a half it's news.

My dislike of his style has nothing to do with how he calls IU games: I find him to be overly critical, & overly obnoxious in the process. He is quite proficient at the art of self love, which as a color analyst, is a bad thing. Just my opinion though.

Like I said, many IU fans expect him to be a homer, and they get upset when he isn’t and then use perceived shortcomings like you’ve mentioned as ammunition against him. It’s all about him not cheerleading for IU, though. If he did, he’d be beloved by IU fans.

I never would blame Dan if he tones down his fandom of IU. He has a job to do. There are times when I think he subconsciously is harder on IU so as to not look like a homer.

That it. Meanwhile Jay Bilas is a Duke homer and i hear nothing about that.

lol okay Mrs. Dakich.

He simply doesn't want Indiana to succeed until they hire someone from Bob Knight's coaching tree (him). He made that as clear as possible after his comments on the Archie hire, he has to make himself sound like he was right all along.

He also continued to prove it after Romeo committed and he spent the next few months talking bad about Romeo (a high school kid) and his family with literally no proof of anything. Disgraceful enough by itself but even worse from an alum of the university. If I was Romeo, not only would i not have done any interviews with him, i would've sued him for slander without proof. It's a very close call on who is worse between him and Kravitz in terms of former alums that enjoy taking pot shots at a university that got them their jobs in the first place. Screw them both.

Wrong. I don't like Dakich and don't listen to him. My only expectation of him is to continue being the jealous hack he is when it comes to IU because they didn't want him as the long term coach. But how about not taking shots at IU that you don't take at anyone else? Just because he played there over 30 years ago doesn't give him some great insight into today's program. My guess is Archie keeps him at arms length because he knows Dakich is a snake in the grass looking for any opportunity to rip IU.

In short, it proves our fan base is a bunch of “kitties”.

When DD started, it seemed as though he went out of his way to be critical of IU. This season he hasn't driven over the sidewalk to side swipe the Hoosiers; just the easy bump on the side of the road.

Dakich is butt-hurt that Archie is coach at IU and he was not hired full-time after Sampson.

He made one comment and it alluded to how the rest B1G thinks IU gets the calls in AH. It was a bit tongue-in-cheek. I guess you missed his subtlety.
What I recall was him saying "you knew that was coming" after IU got a makeup call immediately after the refs blew not calling a foul when Phin got hammered on a layup. The crowd was all over the refs, and the first chance they got to blow the whistle against Arkansas, they did.

To some, that's him complaining about calls.

I thought he was a homer all day. Had nothing but good things to say about the fans, the atmosphere, and everything else going on in B-ton today.

He’s very fair he’s not a homer like jay bilas or jay Williams

Lol.

It was nice to see him helping the kids shoot around before the game though.

It was a rediculously physical game and then out of the blue a touch foul was called.

IU got some calls in the second half that were touch, but got hammered many times as well with no call.

You guys are constantly on Dakitch, but he loves IU basketball.

Before the game today he had a hundred kids in a line and he was rebounding and interacting with the kids. It was fun to watch.

And he doesn't bad mouth the coaches or players.

I don't expect him to be a homer, but I also don't like him insinuating that teams get shafted when they play at AH. I still have vivid memories of Nigel Hayes literally living on the free throw line at AH about 4 years ago.

The whistle blew EVERYTIME Hayes took a step in the direction of an IU player.

Yea, IU gets some real home cooking... Dakich can be a serious retard.

He does indeed badmouth coaches, players, and parents.

Yeah, this thread really proves my point. Lots of undeserved personal attacks based on made up stuff. People don’t like him because he’s not an IU homer, and that drives them nuts.
