This is a bit off topic, but I think it's worth discussing.

Selling off majority share in Mavs? Leaving Shark Tank? One of his recent projects has been cost plus drugs which provides major discounts on many prescription drugs.

If he entered the race, he could use that platform and I could definitely see him capturing a majority of the center.

Just a thought.

It is worth discussing, but not on the bball board.

TW, from what I have heard, he wants it. Not sure he will ever go for it.

who would have ever thought billionaire reality stars with zero experience in govt would be worth discussing as presidential candidates? only in America, and possibly Ukraine he at least intended to be funny.

“Experience in government” should be a disqualifier for any candidate. Career politicians, with little to no real world experience, are the root cause of the majority of our problems.

Seems highly unlikely since he is going to continue controlling team operations and he still has one more season left on Shark Tank.

I understand this argument but I'd counter that being a politician is a specialized field. You wouldn't have an auto mechanic perform brain surgery and vice versa.

Having fresh blood with new ideas is great. I'm just not sure that it is a great idea to throw someone with zero political experience into the highest elected office in the world.

Also, his Cost Plus Drugs is not really any better than other pharmacies. In some instances their prices are higher. They also still do not have insulin, which Cuban said he was tackling over a year ago.

Compare these two prices:

When push comes to shove, I don't think Mark is as deranged and would subject himself and his family to the scruitny of Presidential politics. There is zero doubt he'll have some questionable things from college come up, as would many of us.

i coudl be wrong but i think the idea is that cuban's pharmacy will be unique in that it manufactures drugs, or will. so where other pharmacies rely on getting drugs from the manufacturers, or even nonprofit pharmacies by way of donated drugs, cuban will eliminate the middle man and set his own prices. presumably he'd eliminate the middle man as well re pharmacy benefit management organizations who take a cut. middle men plural lol

Yeah, I don't think so. I read an article that said he is retaining shares and would also retain oversight of basketball operations.

So he's gonna still be busy with the Mavs.

Yes, he wants to manufacture generic drugs and then sell direct to consumers, eliminating the pharmacy benefit managers. It is quite an undertaking, and will take quite some time before they can manufacture a significant number of products.

I know a lot of us have probably heard some urban legend stories about Cuban's time at IU. My guess is that none of that even comes close to the actual truth about Trump's life. Given Trump's ambiguity on his Howard Stern interviews about potentially having paid for past girlfriends' and wives' abortions, the real actual truth about Trump is probably a lot worse.

The difference there is Trump will say and do pretty much anything to win favor with whoever he needs to get votes. I don't see Cuban enjoying playing the game of kowtowing to certain interest groups and apologizing for things he probably isn't sorry for.

At least Cuban isn't charged with 91 felonies, charged of sexual assault by more than 25 women, and in general a serial grifter.

That's not even where I was coming from. I think Mark would have some stories and details come out about him and his younger life that, while don't even compare to Trump, are still embarrasing to the average person and/or family. Trump just doesn't really care. That's not really Mark's personality.

Everyday I become more and more grateful there were no cell phones in everyone's hands when i was hammered drunk doing something stupid at age 20.

He has been talking about this new basketball arena in the middle of a Dallas casino site for about a year now. Now he has some else's money and casino people to lead that charge. Better yet for us Mavs fans, maybe he will go into lux tax to improve the team with another superstar since he is spending someone else money.

This is a very reasonable and rational take. As a Senator or House member, it's far more feasible.

Now that softball is hard to resist but I will. :)

I was at IU in the early 90s and for some reason, I always had one of those disposable Kodak cameras. I captured some decent moments, but they will never see the light of day. Mardi Gras 1994 comes to mind, that was a doozy.

My mom once got a roll of film from a camera on accident. Whoa boy. Hard to explain the glass vase and why it was all dirty sitting on that table, you know.

good point most businesses tend to hire idiots off the street to run their companies. the educated are too hard to control and act as if their experience qualifies them.

I only ever fly with pilots who have zero experience and only get surgery performed by people who aren’t surgeons.

He's not running for President but I agree with Dakich this is weird.

I don't know who the woman in the video is, but it was sure nice of her producer to feed her meaningless stats about Dallas' playoff record.

I don't really see the issue. If the buyer and seller have a great relationship, which they appear to do, and/or the buyer feels the seller has done a good job, businesses do this all the time.

Not buying the angle that the Mavericks would consider going to Vegas. The NBA wouldn't go for it. They aren't bonding the 5th largest TV market in the US for the 40th. Indianapolis (29th) has a bigger TV market than Las Vegas.

Vegas and Seattle will have franchises within the next five years, if not sooner. I could see New Orleans relocate to Seattle, and Vegas would get an expansion franchise. The NBA doesn't require there be an even number of teams for scheduling purposes, so they can live with 31 teams.

I could see Cuban bowing out and being part of a new Vegas franchise though, but that's not exactly to the level of suspicious.

Personally, I would never vote for a president from this time on who has never experienced the "real world experience" of declaring bankruptcy.
