Covid restrictions are on the way back

You know what the lockdowns were around here? It meant grocery shopping at a distance with a mask on. It meant cooking more at home. It meant adjusting to carryout instead of dining in. It meant more time outside.
I remember seeing a stopped line of cars at a traffic light evenly spaced 1-2 car lengths apart... an apparent act of "social distancing". The fearing mindset of the idiotic proved just as contagious.

The folks who have politicized this are staunchly stubborn about defending their narrative no matter how insane it is or how many of their relatives die from it.
Had to keep a relative out of my grandmother's 99th birthday. He wasn't vaccinated. He made a big fuss about not being able to come. Others understood.

He showed up anyway and ended up on the front lawn.

There was a time when Fauci told us the vaccinated wouldn't transmit the disease. His blind followers believed him in obedience to the governmental issued "science." Are you and your banned relative back to sharing beers?

Would like see when Fauci said the COVID vaccine would create total immunity.

I remember there being a two or three day stretch on Biden's stump when he stated if you take the vaccine you won't get COVID, but IIRC, he backed out of that pretty quickly.

No...never socialized with him before any of that. Just family gatherings. We get along fine.

Even the couple of others who didn't want to get vaccinated told him he was an idiot. Whether he's ever admitted it, he knows he was wrong.

Fauci didn't tell us shit...the scientists working on and testing the vaccines kept us up to date on the current science. Fauci was a mouthpiece for them at best.

Even Fauci was politicized by the Pillow Guy People.

Fortunately he is still alive. Many of them are not.

He backed out of that one as quickly as “masks won’t be required”. I bet Biden wishes he had a lot of his quotes back, like “I almost lost my ‘67 Corvette” in expression of “sympathy” to Islanders with still missing children.

Has he ever been wrong to the point of getting Covid? Did any of the vaccinated relatives inside, subsequent to your gathering, ever come down with Covid? If so, how many times?

So my assessment of your earlier post is spot on.

You have demonstrated that twice now.
No you haven't. "You think the risk of heart issue is more than the COVID vaccine" (so you are an idiot). That is your view.

My view was I weighed it all together and didn't feel that the shot was worthwhile for a variety of reasons. One of which was that there is a low incidence for heart issues in young males in particular that you have to include in that weight. The other things I weighed were that graph, the fact my kids had it before they had access to the vaccine, and the fact the virus has been decreasing in lethality which each mutation like these viruses normally do.

Worry about your kids and I will worry about mine, mmkay.

I see, so in other words you found the risk of heart issues from the vax to outweigh the risks of covid.

That makes more sense.

I keep saying this, but I guess I have to keep saying this until it sinks in.

The super-sensitive COVID tests became so good at detecting virus, even in trace amounts, that they became a surrogate for people saying "I have COVID!" when they really simply tested positive for having been exposed to the virus, often times with no manifestations of the disease whatsoever.

What would have happened if, 70 years ago, you are in an area with a polio outbreak and had gotten a polio vaccine? You would have found out that it protected you, completely, from getting the disease. You never got sick.

But what if 70 years ago there was also a super-sensitive polio vaccine test that was so good at detecting virus, even in trace amounts, that they became a surrogate for people saying "I have polio!" when they really simply tested positive for having been exposed to the virus, with no manifestations of the disease whatsoever, because the vaccine allowed them to fight it off???

Vaccines work. For polio, smallpox, and yes for COVID-19. They work pretty much in the same way. Are they 100% failproof? Of course not.

And people like you. You politicized this as well. You are still doing it. "The Science" is constantly evolving and got things wrong. Yet you "the Science" people are complete ****ing assholes about it. People not wanting to wear masks could be the same way. The fact of the matter is that both of you dicks made the entire conversation around COVID a big pain in the ass because you needed to be right in order to shove it in your enemies faces.

In reality, they had some stuff right and so did your team. "The Science" tells us that now.

In children. I got the shot for myself. This country is in a hoot of trouble because we all get so entrenched in thinking THIS IS THE WAY. And we are crappy to each other about it.

COVID became a badge we wore to show what team we were on. That is just dumb.

People who take science seriously and respond only to your own words

are "dicks"

Cool

at ups we’re trained to do that at stop lights..

He did, pretty sick but not to the point of hospitalization. He's in pretty good shape. Of course my 99 year grandmother wasn't. The rest, I haven't heard that they have had.

It was two years ago, but I was more concerned about my 99 year old grandmother than an extended cousin I see once every other year.

The point wasn't whether or not he choose to get vaccinated. The point was he tried to impose his will upon mine and my uncle's wishes based on BS.

Which is what I pointed out from the first post. you now agree with me.
Yes and no, you made it sound like that was the only factor. It was a factor in deciding for children. Just like the host of factors for the drugs that are advertised on TV shoukd be taken into account.

"Do you suffer from dry and itchy skin? Take Imprexal and it goes away. Side effects include leprosy, cancer, heart attacks, and COPD" Yeah, I am going to factor that in with how bad the dry skin actually is for me and whether other treatments or immunities exist.

That’s very noble of them, but I can tell you it wasn’t a long line of UPS trucks I was seeing there.

Living in the country and by railroad tracks, it's common for cars to be spaced out 1-2 cars apart just in case a train stops on the tracks because if it does, there's no telling how long it's going to be before it is going to get going again and we'll need room to back up and turn around.

If there's two trains on the track at the same time, I pray I'm not with my wife because the devil comes out in her then with the fury that woman has. If there's a car that's to close and we can't turn around, may God have mercy on their soul because she's coming for them.

I always give the car in front of me some extra space, a "space cushion" as we called it way back when in Drivers Ed, on the road and occasionaly even stopped. On the road other cars take advantage and pull into that space cushion. It annoys the heck out of me.

Whatever you think you were seeing there, I think some hallucinogens were involved. Because it makes no sense whatsoever.

Or maybe you saw a couple of cars giving a little extra space and your conspiratorial mind went into overdrive.

There is a funny website called something like "that never happened, so much so that it unhappened things that actually did happen.

The story of socially distancing cars belongs there.

Wearing a mask alone in the car is what makes no sense.

Keeping extra space between the car in front of you stopped at an unexpected traffic jam may give you bail out space for the semi-driver texting. I always check my rear view mirror to see what's coming from behind, before hearing the screeching tires.

As I vaguely recall now, spacing of the cars in question may have been at a drive up fast food window. I'll have to ask my wife when she gets home, what she remembers. This needs to be put to rest as a can of worms was not meant to be peeled open for escape.

The wearing the mask alone thing comes up constantly for people wanting to make fun of others. It’s been explained often. If you are making multiple stops within a short distance it’s just easier. I’d take mine off, forget it in car, and have to go back. Easier just to keep in on for quick trips.

I still get maybe 5-10 spam calls a week from people / robots who say they will get me money for retaining employees during COVID. And this is with me refusing most calls that are flagged as potential spam and blocking the number. Seems like a racket still going on.

I don't see any lockdowns or mask mandates on the horizon. The willfully stupid have established COVID-19 as an endemic virus, affecting us forever. But as long as the unlikely mutation to a much more deadly variant occurs, the non-elderly and non-fat asses should be OK. The smart elderly and rare smart fat asses can avail themsleves of boosters, if they choose to use intelligence.
I will not make a decision based soley on what the W.H.O. directs.
