I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s fired after this. I know you all think he’s getting at least one more year but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is it.

He won't be fired because our BB program doesn't matter to the administration anymore but I would swear that he looks like he has quit. His body language and facial expressions in the 1st half looked like he was simply done with this group. Can't say I blame him. They are as clueless as he is.

He’ll get five years to succeed or fail. But he’s four games below .500 overall in the Big 10 in his third year. All of the excusers can’t dodge that fact, try as they might.

I agree, he has checked out himself. That’s why I think it may be the end. I’ve never seen a coach just quit like this before. He’s not even into it anymore. He may quit.

He’s into it and he hasn’t quit. He’s just not effective as a coach in several key areas, and it’s continuing to be exposed.

He isn’t going anywhere yet, but I feel kind of bad for him though. He works at a university that is at best indifferent toward athletics. He would do better at a real basketball school.

Pull the plug.
Naw, y'all need to plug it up .. pulling it out will only drown the place.

PLUG IT UP!

Is it wrong to expect them to at least be competitive on the road? Excusing horrible performances because they happen to be road games shows where the program is and what people now settle for.

I've watched most of the conference look like dog shit on the road in most of the games this year. We are a very average team.....a good team doesn't miss a dozen+ layups a game. Is what it is.

Don’t be ridiculous. I’m about as critical of Archie as anybody — his Indiana teams have been wholly uninspiring, and anybody who doesn’t see that needs be honest with themselves. My position is, and long has been, that he should be fired after this season if he misses the tournament again.

But even I know that’s not going to happen, whether we make the tournament or not. Not with Fred leaving in May. It would make a coaching change logistically difficult.

So embrace the mediocrity. That’s what we are now and the people in charge really don’t seem to mind too much.

Total stupidity.
You’re stupid if you can’t read body language. He’s clearly had it. Can he regroup, possibly? But he needs to fire most of his coaches and change his coaching philosophy. If he doesn’t do this he will fail at IU. He may fail either way but staying on his current course guarantees it. And I’m not saying I think he will be fired. I’m saying there’s a chance or he steps down. The AD will have a long conversation with him after this game I am sure of it.

An “average team” in Year Three used to not be acceptable to many IU fans. Now it seems to be for a good number of what is a declining fan base.

Sure. He'll be sent packing in an hour or so. It will make Bruiser Flint interim coach. Bruiser will get IT to lump into the NCAAT at which time Fred will give Bruiser a five year contract.

My biggest problem with his job performance is the low level of noticeable improvement — both throughout individual seasons and across his now nearly 3 seasons. It’s not as if I was expecting some meteoric rise, given the team and program he inherited. But I think coaches absolutely must be judged on progress, both quantifiable and intangible.

I do think we’re slightly better this year. But not nearly as much as we have a right to expect — and not enough to justify any belief that he’s the guy we’ve been looking for. I find myself coming more and more to the opposite conclusion as this season winds on.

And I’ve been more than willing — eager, even — to have the team prove me wrong.

If this was Kentucky he’d be fired. On the sideline he wasn’t even into it. He just sat there as he was checked out. It’s not often you see a coach checked out like that. I think he’s done at least mentally.

Are you like an FBI profiler or something. You can sit on your fat ass drinking beer and see into the hearts of men only by the expression they show on TV?

That's quite a talent you have there, Inspector Clouseau.

When was "used to be"? 25 years ago?

Because other than a few exceptions..... that's all we've been the last quarter of a century.... average.... at best.

I have a source who says McRobbie fired Glass after the game, hired Knight as AD, and Knight fired Archie and told him to find his way home from Columbus. Hearing there will be a press conference tomorrow at 3:30 announcing that Billy Donovan is leaving Oklahoma City immediately to take over the team, pending his wife finding an acceptable hair stylist.

Who knew you were so smart?!!
