Depends on the nominee. Rubio’s hearing wasn’t contentious. Only the controversial nominees get this level of contention. Hegseth, Kennedy, Gabbard and Patel had or will have contentious hearings.

What about Pothole Pete, Richard Levine, Myorkas, Austin, etc? None of these people were remotely qualified yet were all confirmed easily and I don’t remember any contentious hearings.
