IU just upset a good Florida st team earlier in the week. Plenty of ranked teams have gone to Wisconsin and come away empty handed so I don’t understand all of the attitudes on here.
after Purdue had the 2012 and 2013 down years they started out the next season with losses to Gardner Webb, north Florida, and a 30 point loss to Notre dame before the team clicked. Point being that you’re correct about this just being one game in a long season.

Theres a difference tho between playing great or merely good and losing to a better team... And playing bad or horrible and losing* to a worse talented team.
Iu was already going to struggle afer coming off that fsu game against the big ten because the big ten is loaded this year.
This IU team only now only compounds the problems dramatically weve learned after watching this game.
Being down by as many as 30 and continuing to get blown out shows this team WILL BE highly vulnerable.

cant call you our specifically but the crowd that was quiet as church mice after the FSU win sure thinks the earth is on fire today. Like they always do. I expect that will happen after each loss this year for a team that will comfortably make the tourney.

it's five guys on a court in a state rich with tradition and talent. the posters who are so adamant about rebuilds taking 3-4 years are absurd. it's literally five guys. the espn college football pregame show just a few weeks ago said that the rebuild time for college football is now 2 years. coaches get 2 years. and that's football! yet somehow finding five guys who compete hard takes half a decade in the state of indiana. beyond stupid.
Every year Archie has had at least a few games where the team failed the "I give a sh!t" test.

the tired bullshit is the endless excuses from guys like you. miller is making a shit ton of money with the expectation that by year three we would at least be competitive against a lousy team in the big ten. yet, here we are, and we're not. enough with the excuses. at the end of the day it's only a game, but by now we shouldn't be losing by 20 points to a terrible team.

They have done well but I am unsure there was any rebuild involved. They both began with experienced and reasonably talented rosters, especially OSU. Both coaches are doing a terrific job but it is not like they brought programs from rock bottom. I know the theme for today will be to dramatically overreact to this terrible effort today. I prefer to wait and see if this is ongoing before going into full panic mode.

It's predicated on what we've seen the last two years. have you or TMP ever played a sport? the body of work is more than enough to form an opinion. guys can make mistakes. guys can miss shots. guys can fail to execute. all okay. but a good coach makes guys give a 100 percent. a good coach gets guys to play their arses off. these guys today, like so many iu games in the past, put out a lousy effort. that's poor coaching. continue with the excuses or as tmp posts "people whining." wake up.

I have no idea what you're defending at this point. sports are a result-oriented endeavor and the results have been garbage. Anyway, certainly not worth banging my head against the wall that you and a few others have become. Did you watch the game? Defense didn't have any intensity. We didn't rebound terribly well. There wasn't the effort and intensity we had vs FSU.
I am far from an expert, but I have played and coached basketball. I can see a lack of effort when I see it.
I am not cashing in the season, but in year 3 this is becoming a trend.
So how long until we expect Archie to get this program a rolling? Wisky is not good this year and they made us look like a JV team
