Congrats on your first NCAA win.

Reporter: If you could give your mentor one message after winning a tournament game as the head coach of Indiana what would it be?

CMW: "I love the hell out him. He's probably the greatest coach that's probably ever graced the college floor".

Well done Coach Woody! We love you man!

Jury still out.
Maybe so, but you have to love his style. He keeps it real and you have to tip your hat to him. Who is the last head coach to win a tourney game in their first season as a HC? Regardless, it's his first win in the NCAA in his first try and jury out or not, have to congratulate our coach. And that interview was vintage Woody.

His sub patterns are disturbing. He puts 5 guys out there with no one who can hit a shot.

Agree about his sub patterns. But he didn’t do that weird take everyone out crap in the second half.

Some of Wooden's teams would have run circles around the best Indiana squads. Or any other teams from any other eras.

I am a big Mike Woodson fan. In one season he has proven to be an effective teacher and motivator. He has the respect of the team. He hasn't publicly thrown anyone under the bus.

Back to great coaches. Jim Calhoun was an outstanding and he did it at UConn. Won his third national championship at age 68. Woody is still a youngster.

With equal teams & time to prepare, CBK was likely the best there has been, but there are many other facets, Krzyewski has been better by virtually every metric.

Knight was the best at assembling a team and coaching a team…until you also had to recruit the AAU coach.

Agreed. I think that Coach Knight would be ashamed at what Coach K's program became. The whole Zion recruitment is evidence that Duke is as dirty as anybody. Coach K sold his soul in his pursuit of national titles.

The only upside is that it put a damper on Calipari's success at dominating the one-and-done market, exposing him as an average coach wrapped inside a master salesman.
