CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein Forecasts Big Ten Basketball | Not Optimistic on IU

Tmp = internet tuff guy. Analysis and analytics only get you so far. Lies damn lies and statistics remember.

Now I think ( this my opinion clearly for any internet smart ass douch bags that need that spelled out) the 3 point line being moved back and simultaneously having the best front line in years maybe a recipe for success this year. I have hope that despite what I think is weak shooting and guard play MAYBE overcome by a very strong post in Davis (if healthy) tjd and brunk.

“Oh... Johnny, I apologize, I forgot you were there... You may go now.”

If the Hoosiers are one of the worst free-throw shooting teams in the country again it won’t matter how high everybody can jump. Or for that matter how fast they can ride a bicycle.

Certain players who are poor FT shooters need to drastically improve or play less.

I am realistic. IU should not be picked higher right now and the expectations are for me as low as they have been in a long time. The team is going to need overachieve in a big time way.
I have a hard time taking PSU, Illinois, and Iowa seriously. Purdue is also on the list but they are coming off a 100-year storm type of season. So he has them inflated about 5 spots , while having us deflated about 5 spots. He’ll be wrong.

I'm curious why you think calling another poster an idiot (6 times by my count) enhances your arguement. I'm usually interested in what you post. The impact of what you post is diminished every time you call another poster a pejoritive rather than critique what that poster said.

I doubt that you have the professional credentials to label someone an idiot. I note that you seem to be a data driven guy. You question columnists who offer opinion without data. Why not provide the data followed by your conclusions based upon that data?
Because that’s not how you handle a troll, or idiot.

You don’t waste effort and resources on his type.

Do not give pearls to swine.

PSU has a lot of returnees and should be at least a challenge to beat. Iowa has a good group of scorers and Bohannon would be a key there, and Illinois- they were missing inside presence with 2 good guards and a solid freshman forward. They got it. That Kofi kid, if he is as good as advertised, they could be much better in Underwood's 3rd year. Ayo could be a 1st or 2nd team all-conference guy this season.

Purdue had a 100 year storm season after they had a 500 year storm season? What are the odds of that happening back to back?

IU is very capable of overachieving from a predicted 10th place finish.

Because TMP is an arrogant clown. Some teenage tough guy on his Mommy’s downstairs computer. No one takes him seriously.

Do you honestly believe that anyone here takes YOU seriously? Honestly? You are more civil and better behaved than Ordy, but the act is...well

Archie's going to surprise some people this year, maybe not in wins(young team) but being competitive and style of play. I follow Dayton basketball and he had them in the Elite 8 and leading Kentucky w/about 6 minutes to go.
The teams he's had here are not indicative of his teams at Dayton. (he did beat MSU twice last season )
There's been some players & staff leave after the season, hopefully people aren't being forced on him by some higher ups. I think we'll see a higher level of basketball being played, but think the youth will probably cost some games.

It's not a young team. That's actually a part of the reason they might do better than predicted.

It's Archie's THIRD year. "Surprises" that don't result in wins are not impressive. The honeymoon is long over.

The best part about his list is he had TJD as his top impact freshman.

Rob Phinisee on his top 10 list of breakout stars.

Jerome Hunter on his top 10 list of underrated freshmen.

And Joey Brunk on his list of top 10 impact transfers.

If that all happens then IU will be a top 4 team in the BIG10, not 10th.

Seems like a dude that has no idea what the hell he's talking about.
Add up those "top 10s" and you still don't have the talent the elite of the conference has. The program will continued falling to irrelevance this season.
