bullshit, it's says bet up to 1250 risk free. if you lose, they match it. so thought what the hell opened an account and threw it all at Georgia tech -2-, they win by 1 so I lose but what hell didn't matter they will put the 1250 back no harm no foul. doesn't work that way. what they do you get a free bet for 1100 and something not sure how they came up with figure guess it's with the 10 percent taken out. the free bet is just for the winnings not the stake and the winnings and you have to bet it all so I'm pissed and take Boston college -6 and they did cover. was thinking I would have around 2400 in the account nope they only paid me 1125, bait and switch bullshit wasn't a free bet at all just a 2nd chance to get even if you lose.

They aren’t cheating you. You didn’t read the fine print, or make a reasonable judgement that something the sounds too good to be true probably is.
its deceiving I'm sure you're right the fine print probably spelled out the scam, which there was 14 pages of fine print. I would prefer to live in a world where a major corporation doesn't find it necessary to f@ck people.

Yea sadly I’ve learned not to trust what big companies say.

So you made 2 bets, both around 1250 bucks, lost one, and pissed you are up 1125?

Gotta read that fine print.

Are you familiar with the term “caveat emptor”?

Casinos and sports books are in the business of separating you from your money. It’s what they do.
Precisely. Think of them like Disney World for enthusiastic and gullible adults.

I remember a story about Meyer Lansky. He was flying down to Cuba with a childhood friend. He told him he could play on the house as much as he wanted.

The friend asked what he should play. Lansky said that playing blackjack well gives you about a 40% chance of winning.

“Well, what if I want a better than 50% chance of winning, Meyer?”

“For that you have to own the table.”

So you made 2 bets, both around 1250 bucks, lost one, and pissed you are up 1125?
I deposited 1250 so yeah, I'm even but that wasn't the promotion. risk free first bet if you lose you are back to 1250, wasn't the case I had to win a bet to get even.

Those “free bet” promotions are deceptive. Always…always…read all the rules and details on them about 3 times until you fully understand them.

The ONLY thing the betting apps ever do for “free” are the Gimmee bets where they move the line as bets are made so they end up with bball games with lines over 100 points, as an example. Or silly prop bets like over under rebounds for Giannis at 0.5. Those are usually smallish bet maxes to control the casinos exposure. And those are carefully planned promotions to attract new betters and get current customers to engage again, and/or to deposit more money in. I haven’t seen one of those in a while. Most of the sites probably have a few hundred dollars worth of them a year. If someone was disciplined enough to just bet those promos at all the available different apps and stuff. Might be able to make some decent money overall. I’m guessing in the fine print there are rules about withdrawing winnings from those specific bets though.

There’s ALWAYS a hook. They ALWAYS win in the end. If you can accept that rule, casinos, sports books, and the betting apps can be a lot of fun.

Im old but even I know, nothing is free. Someone has to pay for it.
they know if they get you hooked, they are going to win. I understood you couldn't just take the free money and cash out, and never planned to, I normally bet with Fand duel but when saw the promotion said why not. If nothing else maybe prevent someone else from falling for it

Suggestion...I drive to Anderson. You could go to other venues that are closer to you as well. I avoid the apps. I guess I had too much of a bad experience years ago when they did the Bahamas stuff.

Anyways I go and make my plays and I'm done with it. I go back to get my cash or double up but I have cash in hand.

If I lose I have to drive 30 minutes and make another play rather than make a foolish online decision. It works for me.

it’s not even fine print. It’s obvious what you’re getting if you just read the terms.

A couple of years ago FanDuel had a risk free promo that I signed up for. I bet 1000 on a postseason series in MLB and lost. They put the 1000 back in my account as if I had never lost it the first time. This is what kurt was expecting. (I don't think this type of promo exists anymore.) When I saw the Caesars promo, I signed up for it this past fall. However, I did notice the rules differed from the FanDuel one so I knew if I lost I would not get my stake. I bet on the Astros to win the AL pennant before the postseason began, so I won anyway.

These promos can be very tricky and misleading. You have to really read some of the stuff closely. At least kurt won his second bet!

exactly what I was expecting, and I think when I opened with fan duel, I got the same deal you did. basically what Caesars does is give you a 2nd chance to win your stake back.

The legit promos have been gone for a while. The "free bet" shit is well, shit.
