I think we have a decent chance of beating Iowa if Jordan Howard is 100 percent, especially in Bloomington. To my recollection, there were a couple of times in the past 10 years when we upset Iowa when they were ranked. I think Michigan will be a tougher game than Iowa, but we are home, so I like our chances in that one, too, if we're healthy. Although Maryland is having a tough year, they have shown they can stay with teams, so I look at that one as a tossup. I think the key to this season is beating one of the two remaining ranked teams we face. I would rather win Saturday than have to win the last two to get to 6-6. I do think this team needs at least one signature win this season. To go 6-6 with a win over a ranked team (Iowa or Michigan) with a near miss vs. Ohio State is a much better-looking season in retrospect. Actually, I would prefer we went 8-4, which really is possible, but no one wants to believe it.#1 - the post was certainly pertinent. There were only 3 teams in the entire conference who had not beaten a conference opponent, IU, Maryland and Purdue. Now, there are just two: little, 'ol IU and the Terps.
Was merely pointing to the high probability that IU will be the only team in the conference who will be winless in their coach's 5th season after losing to Maryland, which speaks volumes about the dire situation of the program. 5th year, winless, rival up north just got a win leaving IU on its own island at season's end and people talk some extension for a guy who has done squat.
2. I don't have a personal vendetta against Wilson. I have a vendetta against lousy results. Wilson just happens to be the guy behind those lousy results. I personally don't think CKE is a bad dude. He's just so far in over his head that he should consider doing the right thing and step down s citing job incompetence.
