Bummer IU does not play Nebraska this year

#1 - the post was certainly pertinent. There were only 3 teams in the entire conference who had not beaten a conference opponent, IU, Maryland and Purdue. Now, there are just two: little, 'ol IU and the Terps.
Was merely pointing to the high probability that IU will be the only team in the conference who will be winless in their coach's 5th season after losing to Maryland, which speaks volumes about the dire situation of the program. 5th year, winless, rival up north just got a win leaving IU on its own island at season's end and people talk some extension for a guy who has done squat.

2. I don't have a personal vendetta against Wilson. I have a vendetta against lousy results. Wilson just happens to be the guy behind those lousy results. I personally don't think CKE is a bad dude. He's just so far in over his head that he should consider doing the right thing and step down s citing job incompetence.
I think we have a decent chance of beating Iowa if Jordan Howard is 100 percent, especially in Bloomington. To my recollection, there were a couple of times in the past 10 years when we upset Iowa when they were ranked. I think Michigan will be a tougher game than Iowa, but we are home, so I like our chances in that one, too, if we're healthy. Although Maryland is having a tough year, they have shown they can stay with teams, so I look at that one as a tossup. I think the key to this season is beating one of the two remaining ranked teams we face. I would rather win Saturday than have to win the last two to get to 6-6. I do think this team needs at least one signature win this season. To go 6-6 with a win over a ranked team (Iowa or Michigan) with a near miss vs. Ohio State is a much better-looking season in retrospect. Actually, I would prefer we went 8-4, which really is possible, but no one wants to believe it.

Sudfeld getting hurt had nothing to do with Rutgers laying a double nickel on us.

BRCB is right. NEB would lay 90 on us. So would many high school teams.

Would Sudfeld even be throwing in the 4th Q with a healthy Howard ripping off 5 yards a carry?

Nope.

We win games with healthy Howard and Sudfeld. Without them, we don't.

Last time both were healthy, we were 4-0 and up 10-0 on OSU.

I disagree. We didn't need Howard to win the Rutgers game. We had #24, Mike Majette, ripping off big chunks just fine. But, inexplicably (well, not in explicably actually) our coaches went brain dead in their play calling and had Sudfeld throwing the long ball when we should have been grinding it with our backs. I'm not talking about totally abandoning the passing game but, my God, what was with all of these long low percentage home run throws into triple coverage? We played extremely stupid with a 25 point lead. We didn't even attempt to try to grind the clock with smart football and move the chains. We had to play sandlot football and throw knockout punches. Dumb.
