Draft combine, he was measured at only 6'4.5".

Maybe not newsworthy, but I'm sure we can all debate height again now.

Do you think Archie would have planned to use him more or differently at that height rather than having him stand in a corner or disappear for long offensive stretches?

Did Archie know that measurement- maybe it wasnt Archie’s fault for the offensive inefficiencies?

I think you can look at any basketball roster at any level and probably assess the height listed in the program is probably inflated to a varying degree. He’s 6’6 in shoes (measured at the combine) and basketball is played in shoes. He has a 6’11 wingspan which actually means he plays taller than somebody 6’4.5, 6’6.

I stand 5'8 1/2" but you can bet your sweet ass I tell 'em 5'9". Tallness in stature with erect posture is considered in society to be more sexually becoming. That's just the way it is and there ain't nothing you can do about it. I blame it on my mom's side of the family...short legged and all that they be. Platform shoes only fool them so long, and that proves not long enough.

I think Romeo should have posted up some like IU did with Bailey. He obviously had some issues with shooting from outside, probably because of his hand injury, but he could have taken most players that defended him under the basket. Fact is that poor outside shooting was IU's problem. Even 5 percent better and IU's offense would have clicked and IU would have been in the NCAA tournament.

Who had them shooting outside shots rather than posting up?

Which asst coach developed the weak offensive game plans? Or was it Archie himself?

I blame coaches over 18-21 year old kids...

I gave my opinion and I’m not the coach. Neither are you.

Who is em? Are you saying women will go out with you based on half an inch? You don't want those kind of ladies. Find a girl who likes you for you.

Romeo posting up would have been a real good idea. The other team would never put a taller stronger more physical player on him I am sure. So you want to put a 6'5 weak guard in the post that can't dribble as good as the other 3 guards on our team (obviously because of a thumb injury) only comfortable going one way (obviously because of his thumb) and a very below average passer (obviously because of his thumb). Sounds like a winner, we saw so many good posts moves from him this year!

Thank you, Father. I knew I could count on you for comforting words of encouragement during these times of self doubt and despair. Now, if I only had more hair...(rhymes with "despair" for those lurkers of slower synapse, perhaps).

With or without shoes? I have never seen anyone play without shoes. His strength has been his length and wingspan not the top of his head.

It won't matter to people that judge him on what he can do n the court.

Hey some women love men without hair. Lots of women were swooning after Sir Patrick Stewart. I am a firm believer that there is somebody for everyone. Let me give you one example. I used to be a security guard at a mall in Galesburg IL. I was a part time pastor and worked four days a week shoving as many hours as I could at the mall sometimes getting 35 hrs a week. There was this woman who would visit. She was short, very heavy, had stringy hair and was in all ways physically unattractive. I'm not making fun of her just telling what she looked like. One time a woman who worked at the mall came up to me and said she was in the bathroom and noticed this lady coming out of the stall with toilet paper and poop in the paper. She rolled up the poop in the paper and put it in her purse. What is the moral of the story? SHE WAS MARRIED!!!!!!

I knew of another who came out of the stall with poop in paper... and most here would consider him a genius.

cryano, curious have you ever played or coached a game of basketball. At any level? Just curious.

The local YMCA had a co-ed youth league when I played in the U-8 league...and scored 7 points one game. We got 1 point for hitting the rim, two if it went in.
Unfortunately the next season we moved, and I was unable to play anymore. Sad, I think as an 8 year old the next year I would have got to double digits multiple times.

His height wouldn't matter if he could shoot the ball effectively (particularly from 3 point range), get the ball to the basket consistently, get to the foul line
more often or pass the ball effectively. i always look for a player who knows how to play the game effectively and use his skills to make his teammates better. I didn't see that from him at the college level. Reminds me of the old story about the NFL Scout in the 1960's who went out to scout a player in a live game and wrote a short note back to his team that read, "Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.

Cool story, Father. Keep 'em coming. It's a strange world in which we live and that's what makes it so fun.
