While people laughed its really not funny. Remember what Reagan said, "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction".
And people laugh at the bible and the end times scriptures. Years ago when you read "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name". You wondered how that would happen yet here we are.
This is all happening so subtly behind our backs, but yet in our faces. "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made".

This is what I took away from the clip, and it's not so subtle. China's government sucks, and it's dangerous. I think we can all agree on that. And some American businesses, athletes and celebrities like John Cena are greedy bastards who are turning a blind eye to China's despicable human rights violations.
Finally, this was a good observation by Maher: "We're still, at least for another three years, a democracy based on freedom."
I don't think that observation holds water. The table is set and its already too late. The Durham investigation and what becomes of it will be a tell tale sign. jmho

He does but he pointed out the Trump admin and Biden admin calling out China for crimes against humanity.
He also paused (for effect) 3 years with the Biden administration for a good laugh. I think even Bill realizes this is a whacked situation under Biden.
It’s a bad observation. He should’ve said for one more year at least.
COH’s bananalisms notwithstanding, republicans are conscientiously undermining voting here in the United States and if they succeed that is for all intents and purposes the end of democracy here at least until voting rights become restored.
