Meechie's story reads like KL's.....reclassed and wasn't ready to play.
I had a pretty strong feeling he was over-hyped when I saw his HS highlights. He was thought to have a good Rob Phin type game, but his play even made bad Rob Phin look good by comparison. It will be interesting to see how far he falls. Will he catch on at a place like Depaul or Seton Hall, or another step down like a Dayton or Western Ky? I don't know if he's smart.....if so, maybe a school like NW would take a look. He is a unselfish type guy as I understand the situation. His big dream was to play at OSU, and it didn't work out.
Wow, that kid was 4th team all -state in Wisconsin 1 year ago, Can shoot it, but only 6'1" 170lbs. Imagine if he had committed to IU.
I didn't remember the Podziemski kid as a recruit, but he ended up being ranked in the 70s by both 247 & Rivals, with claimed offers from Kansas & Kentucky.

PSU with two nice portal transfers-----6'5" Andrew Funk from Bucknell. Avg 17.6 pts, 3.9 rebs, 3.6 assists last year. Shot 50% 2s, 36% 3s, 76% FTs; also, 6'2" Camren Wynter, Drexel. Avg. 15.8 pts, 5.3 rebs, 4.6 assists. Shot 50% on 2s, 28% on 3s(34% career), 86% FTs.
Maryland is very close to getting a commit from Jahmir Young, a 1st team all-USA game changer from Charlotte, and a Maryland native. He avg. 19.6 pts, 5.9 rebs, 3,7 assists last year and shot 54% on 2s, 34% on 3s, 89% on FTs; however, he is also testing the NBA waters, ala TJD.
Lot of guys waiting to see what upper-level seminars will be offered this fall at schools of interest.
Dawson Garcia to MN. Sean Sutherland from MN to the Pros. Parker Stewart to visit MN.

1400 guys from D1 have entered the portal with another week+ before the deadline to put your name in. He needs to land somewhere soon. Worst case, he's in all summer and misses that time with a new team. Actually, I guess worst case is he is teamless at the start of the fall semester. Hopefully that doesn't happen, but it wouldn't be the first poor decision regarding his college basketball career.
wow....from 5 star to teamless in 24 months? Hope not. problem is he has very little fresh material to show interested teams that he's worth the risk.

3 transfers to BT schools....none that are really big-time, imo, but interesting:
--Terrance Shannon 6'6" 215 lbs Tx Tech to Michigan. Solid #s playing 25M or so per game, but nothing spectacular. Never saw him play.....is he a really good defender? #62 player in Rivals '19 class.
--Juwan Gary 6'6" 220 lbs Bama to Nebraska. Played only 16M/game but averaged 17/9 per every 40M played. #91 composite player in '19 class.
--Cam Spencer 6'4" 207 lbs Loyola MD to Rutgers. The most interesting of the 3 to me. Avg. 19 pts/4.8 rebs/3.1 assists, with almost a 3/1 assist/TO ratio Not rated by Rivals out of HS. Shot 53% on 2s, 39% on 3s, 85% on FTs, but definitely at a lower level.

Folks have got to remember many of the players saying they are going pro still have eligibility and when looking over the pro landscape for themselves specifically may find that they are not in such high demand and may come back. Won't know for sure onmany of those until they have to make a hard decision in June (the 12th I think).
Champs, you make a good point about some of those looking at the pros will come back.
Here's a cautionary tale about relief coming from the portal. Cedric Russell of OSU is going pro. Who is that, you say? He's a guy who transferred from Louisiana to OSU last year and was looked at as one of the better portal prospects. He avg. 17 pts a game and shot 38% on 3s career at Louisiana but only got 13M/game at OSY despite shooting 43% on 3s. It doesn't looks like he intends to return to the college game whatever happens.

They won’t get Tyrese Hunter. He is looking for the highest $$$ and Purdue has proven they don’t have any.
you're probably right. Purdue's pretty conservative.......it will take them awhile to get the hang of the transfer portal.
Terrence Shannon didn't go to Michigan, at least not yet.

Edit: found it .. though only one report from former AAU coach. Got any confirmation from TS or Michigan? There's a bit of vagueness as he posted "no cap" after his AAU coach posted that. I don't think he's signed with Michigan yet. It's just an option and rumor at this point.

Some are claiming they're just waiting for admissions ... and that he's committed but TS is acting more like he's still open.

Hasn't happened yet, but MSU is likely to get a commit form 6'6" wing Micah Parrish, who avg 13/6 last year at Oakland. Not exactly a game changer, and right now MSU doesn't seem to be on the verge of getting any big-time transfers. To me, it appears Izzo has in a slow decline phase of his career if he doesn't soon retire......He's 67......bad thing is, Woody is 64..........
