As I Purdue fan I don't think you guys are as far off as what it may seem as of now. Carver Hawkeye is going to be tough for anyone to win at, and Illinois was coming off of a difficult loss. You are still 4-3 in the conference, and I think you will win this evening which will make you 5-3. 10 or 11 conference wins is a real possibility, that might be enough to get in the big dance with these larger conferences. I do think you miss Malik, but I would think he will be back soon.

I don’t disagree. The talent is certainly there to make a run and most of the fan base knows that. I still think we end up 12-8 or 13-7 in conference. Just need to get healthy and build some confidence.

We just beat a time who sits now at 10-8 and 2-5 in OVERTIME. It took what, 2 or 3 five stars, a perrenial all-Pac 12 player along with frosh of year Pac 12 player to beat said team. 🎊
I’ll take the win but beating a bad team on the road in overtime when u are playing your best is not too exciting. Now if we are a good team that played bad and gutted out a win that would be refreshing. But this? I just kissed my sister (on the cheek). BFD
I think Woodson believes he would win consistently if he had the players. And when he had a 1st team All American TJD, he did pretty well. But the trouble with relying on player talent like that is that he is in charge of getting the players every year, although it couldn't get any easier than offering them cash.
But he has flat out missed on Bidunga, Mullins, Fland, McNeeley, Haralson, Reibe, Moreno....just to name a few. Let alone not recruiting good players that are signing elsewhere, like KJ Windham, Markus Burton, Axavier Robinson...I mean you sort of reap what you sow if you think throwing money at Ballo and Ware is going to result in stellar 1 yr seasons.

That team has 3 five stars and 5 top 50. IU has 3 five stars, 4 top 50. Last night only one of those 5 stars suited up for IU while 2 suited up for OSU. You should probably do a little research outside of your myopic view before posting.
If all those stars don't translate to a future in basketball, there was a lot of aptitude for the bricklaying profession on that court.
Four teams spent big bucks for talent this year. IU, OSU, UCLA, Illinois . Only one is currently successful. It doesn't always work, regardless of talent level...

I was surprised at how poorly OSU played. Just players going one on one with very little offensive scheme. Basically alley ball. I thought our defense looked better but the Buckeyes seemed to have no offensive plan other than take a defender off of the dribble and throw up some garbage.
All this thread tells me is there are two groups of folks who want Mike Woodson to remain as IU men’s basketball Head Coach: his family and staff, and Purdue fans- another indictment of Woody. Sorry you two groups you don’t have a vote.
All that may be true but did you see a level of play that honestly suggested we would get past the first round in the NCAA tourney? Big Ten tourney?
We almost lost that game because it took three possessions to figure out how to break a press. I haven't seen every game this year but I've seen nothing to suggest we wouldn't get blown out by any team in the top 15-20 rankings.
I wasn't able to watch, but that's chapped my ass during previous games. We can't even inbound at times against a press. Bunch of basketball dullards out there.
10-10 at best. It wouldn't surprise me if UCLA is the next win. If team that played Louisville shows up to the games Indiana 'should' win then you could be looking at 8-12.

There is a chance. It is unlikely.
If you look at the whole season and sort the schedule by strength, almost all of their remaining games are against teams that are better than anyone they've beaten.
That means best case scenario is like 5 more wins, 19-12, 10-10ish. Best case.
Any thing better than that would be proof of being asleep the first 4 months of the season. I don't think that us likely.
More likely is about 9-11. That includes a mandatory win at NW.
