Of course you don’t realize how percentages work. You find one coach who worked out and ignore the hundreds who didn’t. It’s delusional and blind wishful thinking. Some of us know better. I guess you’ll have to learn the hard way like you did with Crean. Because the same exact excuses were used for him.
Don't throw me on the Crean bus. Find one thread where he got my endorsement...

While were at it and since you know so much better!

Who is your choice and what kind of contract would be given and who's going to fund it. Step up iron paws. Basketball and football choices. Its easy for you to type a bunch of crap and constantly criticize so step forward if you have any balls and name your choices and contracts. This should be great!

Who’s going to fund it? Is this a serious question? Are you familiar with the Big Ten Network? The one that pays each school $50+ million PER YEAR?

I’ve been saying Bruce Pearl since Sampson was fired. Holtmann, Mack, Beard, Bennett, would all be great hires.

In the end we can’t really do much worse than we have now.

Gave mine up a few years ago. I’ve never regretted it once.
It wasn’t a problem when we had a good coach. I was there during the “good ol days” when we were elite.

it's a mindset unsucceful and miserable people adopt. Always have, always will. I promise you I couldn't care less

Okay this is phenom. You lost me with your first choice...

1st we would have gone from one scandal under Sampson and hired another??? OMG do you really think ANY A.D. in the country is that stupid?

2nd Year 2 Pearl was 11-20 at Auburn. That would go over well around here and you would have been right there calling for his head after you endorsed him.

Do you have any idea where that 50 million goes? IU did 122 million in 2018 and actually profited 6 million which is rare

You never stated amounts either for any of these guys nor did you list football coaches and amounts.

I'll just except u as you are a miserable complainer.

Pearl took over a dumpster fire at a football school. He didn’t have 2 all conference players year 2.

And we give tens of millions back to the university every year from our athletic dept. That’s a fact.

Currently Id have went after Hoiberg and Musslemen - I like the ties to the NBA mixed w the college success...
I also wouldnt mind the idea of gauging the interest of Beard or Marshall.

As far as salary, I’d make sure I paid them enough to come.

During the negotiations, as salary increases, the buyout would decrease.

Id also set up parameters of the buyout decreasing for each year there was no NCAA tournament appearance.

Football - idk...my expectations are different, as are IU’s...well they used to be anyway...

idk - hindsight is...
but given Archie’s two years - Id probably be a hell of a lot happier if we had gambled on Fife rather than gambling on Archie...

That will probably be blasted for saying that...but if going w the unproven anyway - maybe Fife/Izzo connection would’ve been better than Archie/Sean/Calipari...

IU PTB: Coach Miller, tough season, right? I'm sure you're doing everything to right the ship, but a couple of our most fervent fans on a Hoosier message board are having second thoughts about hiring you, so we're sure you wouldn't mind if we had some informal discussions with a couple of other coaches...just to gauge their interest in the position.

CAM: I agree it was a tough season, but this restructuring of a culture that you let go down the toilet for too many years can't be fixed over night. You must really have some big names lined up. Stevens, Donovan?

IUPTB: Well, actually, we were wanting to talk to Hoiberg and Marshall.

Laughter cut off by door slamming.

A few months later:

IU PTB: After an extensive search, introducing the new Hoosier basketball coach...Norman Dale!

Audience at PC: First of all, Norman Dale is a fictional character in a movie. Second of all, that's not even Gene Hackman. That's Gene Simmons.

IU PTB: What do you want? Coach Pete Bell wasn't interested, and Brian Dennehy was a little confused about what we wanted. And Norman Dale tested very positive with the crowd on TheHoosier.com.

CND: I wanna rock and roll every night and party every day.

Epic. If the blue hairs can't stand the pre-game festivities now, just wait until Gene is in charge. Flashpots and kiss music at every media timeout. So much tongue...

What a waste of time...

Are you dumb I used two examples. The other is Krzyzewski. 3 years without an appearance. Nice try! If Archie misses next year and dumbasses like you want him gone what if? Krzyzewski was 3-11 and 11-17 overall year 3. I've bantered with you before so rather than give you the gtfo whats your rebuttal?

Coach K had to build a recruiting network and build a program, recruits come to IU seemingly no matter what so I don't think comparing year 3 records is a fair comparison.
