Would the last 72 hours not be shutting it down? The decision was made and in doing so it has been fully acknowledged that this season is off the rails. Dolson needs to protect the relationships with donors that like Woody and might be upset to see him treated that way…plus, I would imagine it would put any hope of negotiating a more favorable buy out scenario out of the picture.

That was their game where they were labeled great talent. One game! Their #'s never indicated they where top50, top 100, top 200 or even top400 talent, nope neither one made into the ELITE status. But the HYPE was on the move to the top of the mountain! It only had one way to go, down the craper! Woodson is not a good coach, not because of mainly X's and O's, it's because he has no clue on how to build a TEAM. NO TALENT!
According to Woody's contract, he would be owed 8M over 8 years. For IU, that sum is very low. The athletic department could have afforded that during the pre-BTN days.
Sure we can afford it, but we still live in a world of finite resources even if the resources are massive. A couple of million saved could be the operating cost for smaller sports. Let’s spend our resources where it matters not to satiate the entitlement of the minority that can’t avert there eyes from a coach they don’t like for a few games.

Ballo made a bad pass early in 2nd half yesterday. Woody pulled him and they had some words as he went to the bench. Where he sat for a long time. I do think Woody has lost Ballo.

Woody bought players who wanted to play at IU (and the NIL offered), not FOR IU. Ballo and Rice strike me as the latter.
There's a mitigation clause that requires Woody to search for and find comparable employment. IU should only have to pay a fraction of the 8 million.

Agree. People who watched them in person saw everyone get excited on the bench and when playing during our comeback and the multiple times when we went on a run.
