I'm really happy with what hes done. I've had people tell me that he wasnt a good hire and I cant help but laugh.

Who has had more injuries than us the past 2 years? Last year we lost the only big guy we had and played a 6"5 guy at Center. And still finished .500 in conference. Crean didnt leave much behind at all. This year, I dont care how close the games were, to be 12-2 against this schedule with our roster being a M.A.S.H unit is pretty solid. Add on the recruiting and it looks like our program is slowly trending up. It may not be as fast as some people want, but we are climbing the Hill. The job that Archie and the job that Chris Holtman is doing at OSU, is pretty dang good. I expect to see us and them win several Big Ten titles. Especially when Izzo and Beilein are done which will never be soon enough for me. I cant wait to watch the rest of the Big Ten season play out.

The injuries are what people too easily discount. Do people just not understand how HARD it is to practice and develop with limited bodies, let alone play?

We literally lost the 3rd most talented player(Hunter), before game 1. I dont see how that doesnt hurt?

Last year was a disaster. No excuse to miss the NIT and get blown out by Indiana St and IPFW. No excuse for that.

This year he’s been terrific. Granted we’ve had an extremely easy schedule but the way we’ve finished games has been great. And his recruiting (if he lands Brooks) will be very good. Not great but very good and good enough to win with.

Overall I’d give him a B+ so far.

Your point is spot on.

Back when younger, I ran a 10k or five mile organized race two of every three weeks, plus some longer runs of 8-10 miles thrown in when the mood struck me. In a six year period I ran four marathons. A typical training week was routinely 4-5 six-mile runs (or longer) after work yearround.

My point is that I and many in my training group were always fighting injuries and all we were doing was running at maybe 75-80% of all out.

I shake my head at those who don't understand how a D-1 player can get hurt in "practice."

Archie has done a very good job so far with the hand he was dealt after Crean.
Archie is recruiting Indiana HS players heavily and looking nationally to the remaining team needs, which is the formula that RMK used to bring home 3 National Titles to IU.
The future looks very bright at IU under Archie.

No doubt he had is plate full trying to get this group to buy in after what TC allowed kids to do. Definitely heading in the right direction but far from where i hope he intends to get. And yes injuries have been a big problem in year two. If he can recruit Indiana's best home grown talent every year he will have cleared a huge hurdle. Hoping he can land KB and TW. That would cure a lot of problems fast.

I consider Trendon Watford an Indiana legacy recruit.
He grew up watching IU basketball in Assembly Hall and you know it still has a special place in his heart.
Brooks and Watford to round out the current IU recruiting class would be a tremendous get for Archie.

Alabama beating UK today had to help their case with Watford. Avery is a fun coach to play for.

Good timing for this thread because if they get bounced at UM I won't be too happy about it.
