Senator McConnell "The country deserves a thorough and immediate explanation of the events Monday". He continued," Attorney General Garland and the Department of Justice should already have provided answers to the American people and must do it immediately".

I agree that we need to know. I also like how McConnell chooses his words. I don't agree with all his procedural moves but dirty politics or not it is the way of the senate.

Garland's response should be succinct, if he doesn't go with the standard;
"We don't discuss active investigations."

He should try:

"We are investigating suspected criminal activity."

Trump and/or his attorneys have a copy of the warrant. Couldn't they release it as it would explain what was being sought.

They could, but the smart move is to try to put the onus on the gov., for a few reasons…

I don't disagree except to say if Trump believed the warrant was entirely to his advantage, he would release it. So it seems possible/probable that there is something that isn't going to fit the narrative he wants.

It is certainly possible the FBI screwed up. But there is zero way of knowing they did or they did not based on the infinitely small amount we know.

Yes.

But they won't.

Trump wants the advantage of having been targeted and searched without the disadvantage of the public knowing why.

Why, of course, is what everybody wants to know so they can determine for themselves whether the reasons are legitimate. Some will . . . some have predetermined that no reason is legitimate.

Have you forgotten that McConnell openly avowed to not giving a flying **** in a rolling donut about policy. His statement is for political purposes only. Let me repeat, his statement is for political purposes only. He doesn’t give an unholy shit about Merrick Garland, Trump or anything else.

He has consistently said about EVERYTHING the standard: We don't discuss active investigations. Not any timetable, status, scope... NOTHING.

Now you are starting to understand.

Yep, can't run the grift when you can't play the victim...

Thats not very nice. He also said we will be watching the house hearings very closely and with great interest. He had a twinkle in his eyes.
If you saw a twinkle in his eyes it was probably a stroke. The guy has to have the most profoundly monotonous, boring twinkle-free eyes ever. (wink)
