Some Comments--

Better than expected--Rourke (right now, POY in the BT. How will the stats look after we play better Ds?. He's been assisted by amazing WR play); Luke Altmeyer (Turns out Fat Boy can coach QBs); Drew Allar; Billy Edwards (other than Rourke, my #1 surprise)

Flying under the radar--Will Rogers at Washington

Disasters--Chiles at MSU; Cade McNamara; Hudson Card--I feel like he's a good QB stuck in a really bad situation; NW QBs; Warren Davis. Miller Moss isn't a disaster, but he is a disappointment at this point. He's not getting much help from his WRs.

Playing about as expected: Dillon Gabriel; Will Howard; Brosmer; Raiola; Garbers; Kaliakmanis

How good is Iowa TB Kaleb Johnson?? I would say an absolute stud. 771 yds . 7.9 ypc, and 10 TDs playing with a QB with a 114.4 PER. There are a lot of excellent TBs in the BT this year, but he's got to be the best.

This is a good list. Thank you for this. I thought I heard Gerry Dinardo talk last week on how the teams with solid QB1 AND solid coaching, make up the top tier of the B1G.

The PSU QB seem very efficient. I have not seen them yet this year. To call him a bus driver would be insulting, but I wonder if they have a great ground game and they lead with that?

I expected Hudson Card to be carrying PU better than what he’s shown. Maybe that was just my PP (Purdue paranoia). Their demise is making our season extra special and for that I am grateful.

If you look closely, you’ll see that Johnson has 97 rushing attempts for 771 yards alone.
Iowa as a team has 195 carries for 1,117 and 12 TDs.

IU has Ellison as its leading rusher at 64 carries for 409 yards. But as a team, we rushed 234 carries for 1,202 yards and 23 TDs.

Collectively, our running back by committee is actually neck and neck on ypc at 5.1 vs 5.7.

If you check out the stats IU leads the B1G in rushing and passing yards.

Our offense will be strong every year. It will take a hit next year w/o Rourke. Our defense could be strong next year as well. If we pull in some strong DL over the next couple of years...we will be a Top 10 team.
Correct…..because it is a system. A very sophisticated system that the guy. has run for years. And he tweaks it as needed. For instance, Rourke is a pocket passer. He doesn’t run but only when it’s open
The guy prior at JMU under Cignetti, McCloud, he scrambled more because he could take off with his legs. Same system but emphasizing a bit more one aspect of the system because of the QB styles.
