24 sports one team.

That’s likely a key difference. You’re focused only on beating our rival while I and a few others are focused on what it takes to build a winning program.

Nobody believes you are an IU fan.

And anybody who was around before August 16, when you joined, can tell you this ain’t my first rodeo.

I’ll put my “program building” experience up against yours any day.

And a “football only” building ain’t even in the top 10 things a coach needs.

From you:

Our stadium? Not good enough.
Our practice facilities? Not good enough.
Our weight room? Not good enough.
Coaches? Not good enough.
Staff? Not good enough.
Staff pay? Not enough.
Players? Not good enough.
Recruits? Not good enough.

Every coach I ever worked with would risk jail to keep you and people like you away from their team. People with your attitude are a cancer in a locker room. Destroy team morale and team chemistry in minutes.

Sorry if that hurts your feelings, but you are the worst kind of fan there is.

Please go help Coach Brohm.

PS - NOW is when you play the “settling for mediocrity” card. Cause the only thing worse than a disloyal, negative fan, is a disloyal, negative fan who cloaks his disloyal negativity in the “true fan” costume. Plus, it’s the last card in the deck.

To all legitimate IU fans on this forum I apologize for falling victim to these one trick pony trolls who do nothing but claim they are IU fans but nothing but bash IU football over and over and over again and I was stupid enough to engage. I am truly sorry. I know most of you probably come on for the same reason as I do to find out what is up in Bloomington. So I will not indulge these trolls any further and will let them continue their useless dribble. In the meantime kudos to Fred Glass for all he does for IU athletes and Go Hoosiers!!
Wanting IU to have a high performing football program is considered trolling, in your mind? Wow.

Would you consider your program building efforts “good enough”? If so, why?

I fell into the Ordfan (currently Larry) trap as well under previous now banned usernames of his... Many have. Put him on ignore and your experience here will be much better. The others ...give them another chance without Larry in the mix and it is generally good debate.

We don’t want to be negative, but the truth is that IU football is historically awful and the current administration is nickel and diming the program while peer schools make serious investments. One winning season in 25 years. Serious changes need to be made.

Don’t understand why the call for IU to stop being reactive and to try and lead on this is viewed so negatively. Would think this would be appealing to all of us who are IU football fans, rather than just a few.

Weak sauce, Rook.

The only history that matters to this program right now is the last 4 years, when these players decided to come here, despite it being surrounded by negative disloyal “fans” who spend all day figuring out how to bitch about decisions made by others, ignoring thier good-faith efforts to improve our program, and generally acting like spoiled little children and doing everything they can to spread negativity about our program.

The current administration built the NEZ and SEZ, and you call it “nickel and diming”

You hate IU and Fred Glass for reasons you won’t reveal.
You treat people here like they are too stupid to see that motive.
You lie by omission.
So screw you.
You don’t deserve this community.

Don’t sell me that crap about you caring deeply and wanting to help IU to improve by simply telling the truth about the state of the program. That’s a lie. You’re here to crap on my team.

Buh bye.

It certainly seems like he cares about football but then I learn from this board that basketball has their own facilities. I'm also learning that football should've been the program with their own facilities because it's being used against us in recruiting battles.

I would've agreed with you last week but lots of information from long time posters has recently revealed that maybe Glass isn't quite putting his best foot forward regarding football.

The man is in charge of the lowest paid football coaching staff in the conference according to people around here. What does that say? I just want the season to start and for us to win tons of games.

Cook Hall has made a great impact on that basketball team. 6th place finishes or worse. Missing the NCAA tourney on a consistent basis since the install. NIT flame outs. Blowing games against Rutgers. 2-22 against Wisconsin. The basketball only facility has not made the impact intended, it seems?

I love IU basketball too. Season tickets to both football and basketball but this whole hand-wringing over the exclusive, dedicated facility is overblown.

You think Archie Miller considers Cook Hall “overblown”?

Where have you seen a correlation mentioned?

I don’t know so much about correlations but I’m just trying to put 2 and 2 together: the new facility has not exactly produced results on the court and the win column if that was the intended impact. We have not beat out teams for multiple 5 star guys because of a basketball only practice gym.
Maybe you are seeing something I’m not.

Without Cook Hall recruiting would be even worse. No way Zeller, Yogi, or Romeo come here without it. The inconsistency of the program is entirely due to one person- Thomas Aaron Crean.

How has the negativity some of you bring to this board helped the program in anyway. Instead of bitching about here you should do something about it. You need to write to Glass and McRobbie and let them know of your displeasure because that might help more than complaining on this board. If you buy tickets then stop buying, if you watch games then stop watching. if you donate money then stop donating and to show them stop talking about them on a message board.

Probably not until Tom Allen retires after having won the Big Ten Championship for the 7th time...

Tom Allen for AD! Who's with me! Guys? guys? Where'd everybody go...?
Im sure this was meant in jest but...just for fun, lets wait until he wins more than 5 games and keeps his job before we elect him AD...whatta ya say?...vbg

Welll...just for aruments sake...some people here do both...hmmm

But of course, Im not unhappy with Glass at all. I just need to look backward to know why, Maybe a lot of people should instead of bitching.

And, as you know and I have repeated continually, recruiting isn’t dependent on one factor. No, a practice facility won’t reap rewards when you have a nut job as a coach (Crean). On the other hand, Archie is recruiting pretty darn well.

Well said...facilities are more about first impression when it comes to recruits, part of a bigger perception of the university as a whole. Upgrades are about the future long term. Fans need to think long term too.

And Archie will become a goat here if he doesn’t win this year. Wins are all that matter. The coach can be a nut job or cool and collected but at the end of the day, got to win. Period.

I think that totally depends on what you mean by win ? Does he need to win the Big Ten this year to not be a goat ? I don’t think so. On the other hand they need to win the games they are supposed to , maybe pull an upset and make the Tournament. Let’s face it , at the end of the day it is about winnng everywhere, and if Archie continues to recruit well he’ll be fine. At least he doesn’t run around tugging at his pants like a 6 year old that has to take a piss.
