I like keeping the good Indiana HS players with a school within Indiana. Let's get Lander, Kaufmann, Wesley and Furst...

IU never offered him, so no big deal there. My concern is he will be "recruiting" fellow SB native Blake Wesley to join him at ND.

O well, I guess IU will have to settle for Lander, Furst, and Kaufman in 2021.

Poor us.

I don’t think Furst and Kauffman have any desire to play with one another, similar to Newman and Franklin.

I was hoping for:
Lander
1 of Kauffman/Furst
1 of Goode/Wesley/Konieczny

Goode seems like the most practical out of the third tier. Nephew of Trent Green and grew up an IU fan.

With Phinisee as a senior, Lander is going to be a tough sell.
I wouldn't mind having both in our backcourt, call it a good problem to have.

Either way with a good year this year I think we have a great shot, the real challenge will be if the Dukes of the world start calling.

Growing up in Indiana, a winning IU program is difficult to turn down.

I would think Lander would be ok with that situation. Lander will still get major minutes, but can share pg with the senior. The team is his then his sophomore year. I think Lander is 2 or 3 years in college. JMO

I see Lander at Kentucky and Kaufman at UofL. I believe that Kaufman is a big UofL fan. Hurst is our best bet but I’ve heard that he is a big OSU fan.

Louisville will be lucky to not get the death penalty. Troubles are on the horizon for them. Why would Kaufman want to go there if they are in trouble?

Louisville's not getting the death penalty. They cleaned house and cooperated with the NCAA. Will likely see heavy fines with added probation and maybe a reduction of a scholarship(s) and possibly a postseason ban. Bowen never played a game for Louisville which actually helps them in this case.

Still like our chances with Kauffman nonetheless.

Is Lander a 1 and done prospect? I don't really know anything about the kid and haven't seen him play.

I doubt it .. but he will be a five star and want playing time and Miller's system doesn't work too well defensively with two 6'1 players on the perimeter.

Louisville has been so corrupt, for so long, that it will take more time, and maybe more than 1 coach following behind Pitino to clean up the cesspool at Louisville.

In the history of college basketball corruption has been the norm, not the exception. Phog Allen cheated .. Gamblers, boosters, shoe companies, agents. IU wasn't clean when RMK took over, we were "normal". This pious Indiana narrative of "we do it right" is an RMK thing.

Money attracts opportunists and the NCAA rules are not realistic. There was a time (before 37 million per year NBA contracts) a scholarship and visibility was probably fair compensation for the players. It's now okay for universities to sign multi million dollar TV deals, pay coaches 8 million a year, and anyone except the player is allowed to make money. From high schools, shoe companies, to universities, he becomes a cash cow. From the time a player is identified as "good" he starts generating money, for other people...

I have seen Lander place twice against my son’s team a couple years ago when he was a freshman and last year as a sophomore. I don’t see him as being a one and done. However, it sounds like he tears up the AAU circuit. I’m sure he is getting better and better.

Any other kid on that Silver Creek team, I would say would play for IU. Lol. But man, Kaufman just seems UofL bound.
I have seen Trey play multiple times and a couple times against my son’s team. I was really impressed with the leap he made from a talented freshman to a very good sophomore. I look for him to dominate as a junior and SC have a legit shot at winning state this year and next at the 3A level.
