A penny for your thoughts 🤗In other news, charities and tip jars are expecting record profits.
Granted most of these will be going back into the pockets of ex-treasury employees. In other news, charities and tip jars are expecting record profits.
I'd be a millionaire........A penny for your thoughts 🤗
I agree. Its sad when a decent idea can't stand on it's own.Seems like a good move, given the expenses. The nickel is even more of a losing proposition.
If Biden had called for halting penny production, however, there would be outrage that socialism and the deep state was taking over and continuing to transition the USA to a cashless society
It is a good idea. It has been proposed before. Looks like the first bill that would have done that was in 1990.Seems like a good move, given the expenses. The nickel is even more of a losing proposition.

Used to be able to buy a piece of Bazooka bubble gum for a penny. Back when America was great, back at Jerry’s Delicatessen, which Yogi’s replaced, on 10th Street. It is a good idea. It has been proposed before. Looks like the first bill that would have done that was in 1990.
I saw in Europe they have eliminated their equivalent of a penny. If you pay in cash, it is rounded. Pay by card/check, then the "pennies" are taken in. I suspect that will happen here.
Now if they can get rid of that 9tenths of a coin we have to use at gas stations.
Speaking of gas stations......it chaps my ass when their air pump doesn't work or the payment system is out of order. More often than not it seems these pumps arent working and it's always in the dead of winter. Can't tell you how many times I've nearly had frostbite trying to unscrew those little caps.It is a good idea. It has been proposed before. And remeber when you could get Nutty Bars at the gas station for .25 cents? I thought that was the greatest thing since bread was sliced.Used to be able to buy a piece of Bazooka bubble gum for a penny. It was Dao…. Didn’t like it much, too healthy. Maybe before that?I thought it was The Dow in there before Yogi's, until the cult moved to the east coast.
Is this a congressional decison and what's the argument against it?The penny needs to go. But to be honest, Trump probably doesn't have the power to do this.
Honestly its kind of a shame because I think Abe is the coolest looking of the coins and the copper pops.![]()
Abe is like, "Just shoot me...again."
I don’t know what exactly came after Jerry’s. It was Jerry’s when I left. Came back years later and there was Yogi’s dominating at 10th and Indiana. Used to be a service station on the corner (Gulf, maybe?) and then Jerry’s, which faced McCalla Elementary.I thought it was The Dow in there before Yogi's, until the cult moved to the east coast.
Kennedy Half for me. Uncirculated/proof version of course.Honestly its kind of a shame because I think Abe is the coolest looking of the coins and the copper pops.

There was a period of BWW&W in there in the late 80s between Jerry's and Yogi's.I thought it was The Dow in there before Yogi's, until the cult moved to the east coast.
Fords gum = 1 penny at Builders Square!Used to be able to buy a piece of Bazooka bubble gum for a penny. Back when America was great, back at Jerry’s Delicatessen, which Yogi’s replaced, on 10th Street.

Man you are getting old.Used to be able to buy a piece of Bazooka bubble gum for a penny. Back when America was great, back at Jerry’s Delicatessen, which Yogi’s replaced, on 10th Street.
So they are saying that nickels are bigger money losers than pennies. So rounding to nickels may cost more. Of course it typically only takes one nickel where it may take 4 pennies.
Yeah cashless society.
Did they have Ben Franklin stores in Indiana? Aisles of penny candyMan you are getting old.![]()

Speaking of gas stations......it chaps my ass when they charge for air
Even I remember candy cigarettes. Those candy makers had to be owned by tobacco companies, right?I remember candy cigarettes and bubble gum cigars. The cigarette white sugar sticks had a red tip to look like they were lit, some with coloration like a filter on the other end. Came in a square pack you could roll up in your shirt sleeve like the real thing

sooooooo good. we had one right next door to this gaming/arcade place. you could load up on penny candy, now & laters, swedish fish, then head right next door where they had pole position and dragon's lair up front. dragon's lair was that one with dirk that was way advanced looking. then the middle of the place had a bunch of marv's playing dungeons and dragons and then the back was people playing war games. Not here in Indy area (though I think they had em down in southern Indiana). I know they did in Southern Illinois. I loved going to visit family down there as a kid and go to the Ben Franklin.
Yeah I remember 29 cent gasoline and we didn't even have a car.I remember 35 cent a gallon gasoline... (and it may have been even lower .35 just sticks in my mind)
Now that's old!
😎

For my money, you can not top this gem
40 seconds in.
I once was lost, but now I'm found
The music washes over, and you're one with the sound
Well, who shall inherit the earth? The meek shall
And yo, I think I'm starting to peak now, Al
And the man upstairs, well, I hope that he cares
If I had a penny for my thoughts, I'd be a millionaire
We're just three MCs, and we're on the go
