Who Do You Hate More?

Here is the scenario. Team 1 plays Team 2 for the national championship. Who do you want to win?

Team 1 Team 2
Purdue Kentucky
Purdue Duke
Kentucky Duke
Purdue UCLA
Purdue Wisconsin

Extra Credit: FPeaugh vs Ordfan in a steel cage match!

I would root for Purdue across the board. In fact I did pull for Purdue when Purdue and Rick Mount played UCLA for the championship. The last time I went to a Duke-Kentucky game, I rooted for Duke because I was sitting in the midst of Kentucky fans. In fact, I wanted both to lose.

The steel cage match probably ends in a double disqualification, you know, foreign objects being brought into the ring.

Kopp/Bates

I’m picking up from the commentary around HH that Kopp will be a starter at the 3. And yet I’ve read direct quotes from CMW as to how much Bates has bulked up and improved with over the summer.

Imo, the only thing Kopp brings to the floor is as a spot up shooter. And our O would need to be geared to getting him open. Bates athleticism is off the chart versus Kopp and would be a true O weapon at the 3 spot.

Guess just have to hope Bates supplants Kopp with his play. But right now I’m seeing 4 seniors and JHS as starters. I get 3 of the seniors but one I don’t except for CMW wanting to play/start seniors versus his 5 best players at given spots. Give me Tamar.

Connor not going to throw his team under the bus.

He shouldn't have to answer the questions that the chicken s*** media should be asking Tom Allen, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.

And if they did ask Tom Allen what kind of adjustments they make at halftime he most likely would have answered: "well we've had a lot of injuries and we play a really tough schedule. But we've got some great guys who come from some outstanding families. LEO "

Just back from the game

Decent showing from the fanbase today. In the past, Michigan has turned the place blue. Team fought like hell in the first half… talent just won out, in the long run.

Michigan’s fans are awful. Incredibly arrogant and huge ass holes. Had a few in front of me (sec 5) about row 30 that were talking shit about Indiana the entire game. Loud, drunk, and full of terrible language.

Go win the next two and the place will be rocking for PSU.

Genetics matter less the older you get: Study

A new study suggests that your genetics become less important as you get older, adding to research surrounding how our genetics affect how we age.

The research, conducted by the University of California, Berkeley, found that aging and environment are significantly more important than genetics in modifying the expression profiles of many of our genes as we get older.

Highlights for me:

Talks about needing all 4 frosh to contribute to be successful, coming back after the suspensions, Tamar Bates needing to do the special things that they brought him in for, X making the jump at the end of the year, leaning on Trayce and Race to help develop the freshmen and playing buddy/buddy ball. Mentions Duncomb's improvement

Nice things to say about JHS and compares him to Jason Kidd with regards to vision, getting the ball to the right places and being professional. Just might not have the up and down speed.

All four frosh are promising. Thinks Malik will impact games. Not afraid to play Banks and Gunn, but they need to prove it on the floor.

Big game rotation right now would consist of 10 guys right now, but you can't play them all. Just need guys who are committed and onboard instead of worrying about wanting to play all 40 min.

On the preseason schedule - Always thought that you have to play big games. Competition is good and if you're scared of it, you're in the wrong place. We'll see what we're made of.

Kentucky - That can possibly happen in the future. Cal, Woody and admins need to find common ground and put it together. Time will tell.

How do you become better shooting team - Doesn't really answer how per se, just that we need to. The only way to fix it is to shoot it everyday, put them in good spots and hope they hit them.

Is it important for TJD now and in the future to shoot 3s? - Doesn't have to be a 3pt shooter, just needs to extend and hit some open midrange. Trayce is in a good place, did the work to hit the 15-18' shots. Thinks that's all he needs right now to get to the next level.

How do you deal with the high expectations? - That's a good thing. You' still need to play the games and it's my job as coach to direct them. Put a lot of it on himself rather than the players.

Talks about his love for Bloomington and why he came back.

Came back for 2 things. Conf and Nat'l Titles.

Either coaching or the strength program

Watching BYU vs ND and a bunch of lightly recruited 2 and 3 star OL are holding their own against the ND front. IU has competed with power 5 program for high 3 star OL recruits and can’t even impose their will against Idaho.

The reason I bring up the strength program is our DL doesn’t get much push either and half our team is hurt with mostly non contact surprise injuries.

IU HAS recruited well enough to compete, it shouldn’t feel like the same old IU. They need to outgrow that mindset.
