Some of you are voting for this guy…

From The Atlantic: During a conversation onstage at a Moms for Liberty event last week, Donald Trump said something that made even me—a seasoned visitor to Trump’s theme park of hyperbole—look around in confusion at the people around me in the audience.

“The transgender thing is incredible,” he told the Moms for Liberty co-founder Tiffany Justice. “Think of it; your kid goes to school, and he comes home a few days later with an operation. The school decides what’s going to happen with your child.”

Okay, one of two options in play here. One, Trump has completely lost his mind. Two, Trump believes the audience he is addressing are total Morans and will accept anything he tells them as true.

I’d vote for both options being correct.

Will we meet expectations?

We open up a massive favorite heading into tonight's game:

Personally, I think we'll win bigger (then the line), but the overall execution by the entire Team is a bigger story line to watch...

Hopefully the backups will be able to be utilized in force for much of the 2nd half and we'll get a look at who the rest of our guys are and what they might bring to the table...

Legit Final Four Contenders

Kenpom offers a very clear glimpse at what it takes to be a Final Four team. I went back 10 years, and looked at all the Final Four teams final KenPom rankings. Here's what was very clear, nearly all of them...as in all but 1 I think...finished with.

1. Top 20 in both offensive and defensive efficiency.
2. If you have one side of the ball that isn't top 20, you better be elite (top 5-10) in the other.

Previous years final KenPom rankings do include conference tournaments, and NCAA tournament games. So obviously the teams that do make the FF, will have a little bit of skewed numbers because of the extra games, and the fact that most of those extra games would be against really good teams, on neutral courts. So because of that, I'm going to change the criteria to teams that are Top 30 in both, or Top 50 in 1, top 10 in the other.

Here's the list.

Houston - 5,6 (O and D respectively)
UCLA - 24,2
Alabama - 20, 3
UConn - 10, 12
Tennessee - 48,1
Purdue - 11, 23
Texas - 16, 19
Kansas - 25, 9 (not as obvious a pick as most would say)
St Mary's - 42, 8
Creighton - 27, 10

Borderline teams...
Gonzaga - 1,74 (after their beat down on St Mary's last night...hard to say they couldn't make it. But history says with a defense that poor, its very unlikely)
Arizona - 6,52 (similar to above, they're obviously talented enough. But the defense will make it very tough on them to win 4 games in a row)
Marquette - 4,69 (same narrative as Gonzaga and Arizona)
Baylor - 2,90 (same)
SDSU - 43, 11 (offense likely not potent enough, and it'll end up biting them at some point)
Xavier - 7,84 (Same as others with bad defense)
Maryland - 32, 30 (could play their way close to top 20 in both with a good BTT, and a good NCAA run)
Texas A&M - 31, 36 (similar to Maryland)
Michigan State - 35,37 (similar to Maryland and MSU)

Indiana is sitting at 30 for offense, 45 for defense. If they were to play really well in both tournaments, they probably could push for top 20 in offensive efficency, but they're too far down on defense. Obviously anything is possible. But if you trust KenPom's metrics...it doesn't look goof for a FF run for the Hoosiers.

Eric Reibe

Ribe-uh

Looks like a highly skilled euro 7-footer. Left handed, fashions his game after Porzingis. He's a pick and pop kinda guy. Not a rim protector banger type, but prioritizes a school that will play him immediately and a school that puts bigs in the NBA recently. We seem to check the boxes, and next to Reneau could be effective. He is a top priority and will choose b4 November 1.

He couldn't be more opposite than Ballo. He's got some Filipkowski vibes to his game, but I don't see the desire to mix it up in his game. Kenya Hunter is as good as it gets with bigs so if we can get him on campus and not early commit, Woody needs to do his thing.

IUB has largest student class ever

That's a good overall sign and trend IMO. I have no idea how it compares to other large state schools, but scale and quantity helps to increase offerings and ultimately, quality, over time.

IU Bloomington set a record this fall with 48,424 students enrolled. Applications for the Bloomington campus were also up 25% from last year, which has led to the campus’s second largest beginning class ever at 9,600. IU Bloomington’s new class represents enrollment growth of 24% over the past decade.

The campus has 5,231 undergraduate beginner students from Indiana. For the seventh consecutive year, IU Bloomington enrolled beginner students from all 92 Indiana counties, and a record 48 states plus Washington, D.C. IU Bloomington’s beginner class is academically outstanding, with 38% achieving a 4.0 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale in high school. There are 88 valedictorians in this year’s cohort, and 29% of the beginner students graduated in the top 10% of their high school class.

The number of undergraduate students of color from Indiana at IU Bloomington hit a record this year, up more than 7% from last year.

Biden Admin Asks Airlines to Explain Devaluation of Miles

The irony of this story is just delicious.

- People earn and accumulate miles/points.

- The issuer of these miles/points reduces their purchasing power.

- When people decide to use their saved miles/points, they find they’re worth less than what they had originally been worth when they earned them.

Hey, Pete….

Where was Tayven Jackson

Why didn't Jackson get more of an opportunity to show what he could, or couldn't, do, in the second half, before that last posession? Which, by the way, led to our only touchdown in the second half, thanks to Greens awesome run. He couldn't have done any worse than what Rourke did. Although a large part of the impotent offense was the play calling. Too much of the old IU offensive strategy. Run off tackle, or throw the long, low percentage, pass. Play to not lose, instead of play to win big. Where were the high percentage 2, 5 and 10 yard passes, to move the ball down the field? The offense sucked, especially in the second half. Good thing they got the two-touchdown lead in the first quarter. The whole game looked like, same-o, same-o. Score early, and then stink, the rest of the way. I hope Donaven McCulley is all right.
