Urban Meyer

If IU is ever going to become a decent football program, they must hire a legit major level coach. Urban Meyer is anxious to get back into college coaching. If IU hired Urban Meyer, just imagine the Ohio players, Florida players, good Indiana players who normally go to Notre Dame, OH State, Michigan, MI State, etc., and all the 4 and 5 star players in the portal who would come to IU to play for Meyer. I cannot think of any other coach today, who could turn IU into a viable and legitimate B10 competitive team and perhaps in a few years become a national player. I like Tom Allen but IU will never amount to a formidable competitor with him as coach. Urban Meyer would immediately turn IU into a good program and season ticket sales would explode. AD Dolson, I hope you will get on the phone with Meyer's agent tomorrow and start the negotiations if you want IU to become an immediate B10 football contender.

Walt Bell

Well Bell is turning out to be exactly what his historical performance suggested he would be. A very average offensive coordinator. He's light years better than Sheridan. He's actually a good play caller and he can generate creative opportunities. But his teams don't execute at a high enough level to succeed. He's not a good enough coach that he can overcome a terrible line coach, like a Kalen Deboer could and he struggles to get receivers open. Allen had to get this hire right, and he didn't. Tim Cramsey who is now at Memphis was the guy I thought Allen should go after and he's putting up 37 points a game. His fifth strong year in a row. You have to make a lot of bad decisions to get where Indiana is and Allen has. You chose Charlton over Mike Tressel, Bell over Kramsey, hire a guy in Wilt who is a good coach, but has never been a coordinator and this is what you get. A team that consistenly comes up just short. It's a shame because Allen does a lot of things right. He recruits, his teams work hard and play hard. But he does not get the coaches right. They are not all terrible hires, they are just not good enough to be able to elevate the program.

Optimistic wish

That the breath of fresh air in OL room, helps give offense new pep in their step, OL actually gives a little better run blocking and extra 3/4 second in pass protection.

Then timing is such we knock off MD and at Rutgers - which then sends us into bye week right?

Get a week to rest up , heal up and build off 5-3 record, and will concede OSU. But we play PSU at home, MSU has been reeling. If we are 6-5 or by chance 7-4 (with two huge wins) then suddenly Bucket game means something bigger and IU is playing for Bucket pride and a later day bowl in warmer weather.

That is my post Hiller dream scenario.

Amazing what it’s like to have a smidgen of hope back. (But still not delusional, but do actually think if we win next two games that would be Huge for IU)

Make Subtle Player Changes Too

No targeting them or embarrassing public talk about accountability. We said that way back. Just a couple of changes that send the message. Both sides of the ball.

Actions speak louder than words. Allen needs to stop talking.

Start Lucas at RB. We’re worst in the league in giving up sacks WITHOUT a him, so do I care if people say he needs work on picking up a blitz? No. His positives outweigh his negatives. Plus, Maryland is behind Illinois and Michigan in rushing defense. See if the changes give us a run game spark.

Camper is no. 2 in league games In yardage - No. 13 in receptions. Wear him out against Maryland.

Start McCullough.

Shut up and put up.

  • Poll
State sponsored euthanasia-fair or foul?

Should the state be euthanizing people?

  • Yes, it’s no different than capital punishment.

  • Capital punishment should remain but state sponsored euthanasia is a bridge to far.

  • No, the state should never be killing people for any reason.

  • Don’t care either way.

Results are only viewable after voting.

Spanish prison authorities on Tuesday euthanized a man who shot and wounded four people in December and was subsequently wounded in a shootout with the police, rendering him paralyzed and begging to be allowed to die while awaiting trial.
Courts allowed the man's assisted death after rejecting several appeals by his victims, who argued he should face justice. The case even reached the Constitutional Court, which refused to deliberate on it, saying there had been no violation of fundamental rights.

Fwiw, euthanasia is legal in Spain, has been for about a year.

Also, fwiw, I would vote no on this. The state should NEVER be putting people to death, for ANY reason.

TA on tempo and link to radio show.

TA admits that going uptempo makes three and outs somewhat worse, but says the real issue is the fact you haven’t been able to stay on the field, and that’s harmful to the defense regardless of your offensive style.

Radio show going on now.
