ABC news ran a political ad for some nutjob supporting Trump I don't believe it was directly from his campaign

but could be wrong on that, the ad showed dead babies and drag queens with their dicks out, they ran a disclaimer before and after the ad that it was offensive but by law, they were required to show the ad. wtf is wrong with this country. Trump has destroyed decency, to some that's not a big deal, I can't agree with that at all.

My Hope

🚨If……who am I’m kidding…….when The Great Donald wins I hope you liberals (looking at you @Aloha Hoosier, @TheOriginalHappyGoat, @Bowlmania and plenty of others) can give @dbmhoosier the respect he deserves for his never wavering, always on point, political analysis. The fact he tries to still educate you people even through all the insults and hurtful words is a testament to his great character.

Which, brings me to my 2nd point. @mcmurtry66 @hookyIU1990 @DANC @Joe_Hoopsier I’d like to nominate DBM for The Dream Team 2024 Greatest Samaritan Award. Thanks for reading. Make it a great Sunday.

Interesting Player Interviews

I thought Tucker sort of embodied the mindset of the entire team..., and he reiterated what others have said about feeding off the crowd energy...

Fans really can help these guys when they show up, stick around and get into the game vocally... We've finally created a legit Home Field Advantage for these guys... Let's keep it up...

We need Rourke next week and the rest of the season…

I know it takes the entire team to win, and it did, but we score 50 points if Rourke is in there. Like last year, there are moments where Jackson looks great, but something is missing.

But a huge thank you to maybe the biggest surprise of all the surprises this year…That O-line was incredible. Some tough spots in the first half, but we climbed on their back and ride them to a victory. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve thought to myself, “this is what teams used to do to us”. But wearing down a defense and just bullying them at the line of scrimmage is fun to watch.

Hope to see you guys in East Lansing next week! 9-0 here we come.

What other fanbases don’t realize

As IUFB gains national attention, underperforming programs have their eyes on CCC. Other fanbases typically cite historic programs’ resources as an obvious reason why CCC would take a job elsewhere. They are sadly mistaken for a few reasons:

-Administration buy-in: Whitten and Dolson know the connection between investing in sports, winning, and ensuring IU’s success as an institution. Football success is a strategic priority, and Dolson is a skilled fundraiser (MS and AS renovations are significant examples)

-Alumni resources: Referenced here - huge alumni base with increasingly deep pockets (thanks especially to strong business, law, and medical programs). If you assume historically 80% of funds are given by 20% of alumni, consider the untapped resources that we’ll bring to bear as alumni see a compelling product on the field (6x NIL growth for Hoosiers Connect already)

-Recruiting pitch: winning was the missing piece of the puzzle. State of the art facilities? Check. Stunning campus? Check. Academics (manageable if you want. Difficult if you want.)? Check. Awesome social scene (out of season, cough cough)? Check. With winning comes national visibility, NFL recruiting, higher player pay, etc.

None of this is earth shattering - many of us are well aware. IU has positioned the football program to sustain success once it begins.

The five (obvious) starters all played 30+ minutes and scored all but two of the points. Team was 4/19 from 3, so nothing new there. Absolutely nothing surprising about any of this. I’m encouraged Woody decided he does not have a ten-deep team. He doesn’t. His five starters are elite and perfect for his system. Period.

One of my larger concerns this year is Woody imagines Leal, Cupps, Gallo (and others) are anywhere near starter-worthy minutes on this roster. So this is honestly positive, IMO.

This was an exhibition, but against a top team at their place, and Woody has been generally horrible in these games.

Not today. Gonna call this a big win. Honestly.

Ponds named BiG 10 Defensive Player of the week

https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2024/10/28/football-ponds-picked-as-big-ten-defensive-player-of-the-week

… his first Hoosier interception going 67 yards the other way for the game's opening touchdown. It was his first career pick-6 – college or high school – and is the longest defensive touchdown scored by an IU player since Jameel Cook Jr. took one for 96 yards against FIU in 2015.

His second interception came in the second quarter and set up Indiana's second scoring drive of the game. The two interceptions versus Washington mark the first multi-interception game by a Hoosier in Big Ten play since Jamar Johnson at Ohio State (2; 2020).

He was the highest-graded defensive back in the Power 4 during Week 9 (93.5) per Pro Football Focus. His four-career interception are tied for No. 2 among active FBS true sophomores.

He is the sixth Indiana defensive back to win Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week since the awards began in 1987 and the first since Johnson in 2020 versus Penn State.
