It’s Bison time…

It’s time for IU to bring the Bison back. Gotta have a cool ass bison mascot prowling the sideline…. Imagine a bison with a big ass gold ring in his nose giant horns and an angry look on his face marching around the stadium. The fans would love the photo opps.. the TV cameras panning to him interacting with fans and the camera. I think it’s time to take him off the shelf and dust him off and start using him to enhance the football brand. Plus it would be cool to see. Just my opinion. What do you all think?

NET, Metrics, Seeding

If the SIUE game model holds up, it means Woody still hasn’t learned the numbers game. I posted this in another thread, but it’s vital in today’s game. It also lends to the argument that he’s an NBA guy that hasn’t yet adjusted to the metrics of college basketball.

My previous post…
The problem with "experimenting" in these early games is that it greatly impacts our Offensive Efficiency, which is a key metric used by the NET system that the NCAA seeding is directly impacted by. This is a big reason we weren't considered last year - beating non-tourney teams by single digits. It kills this metric (we ended up at #105 in this category) and therefore our NET ranking suffers.

Here’s an article stressing the same point:

Not sure why this is so hard to understand? The Big 12 got blasted last year for running up scores. Why? It reminds me of the argument against people “abusing the tax code”. If it’s the rules of the game, then play by the rules.

Wake up Woody!
