IU@Miami (OH): Miami 9 IU 7. IU loses on a 7-run 1st inning...

IU opened the game with a K, a single by Glasser, an error by the SS, a walk to Pyne, a single by Ellis that scored two runs, and a SAC fly by Mathison that scores a run from 3rd as IU takes a 3-0 lead into the B1st.

Modugno was a disaster in the 1st as he gave up 7 hits to include two doubles and a triple as well as a walk, as all 7 runs were earned and Mercer kept Modugno on the mound for the entire inning of batting practice for Miami. Incredible.

IU@ Cincy: IU 11 UC 4. IU ends four-game losing streak...

LHP Grant Holderfield is on the mound for IU with an ERA of 4.66 in 29 IP, and Cincy is starting LHP Carter Earls with an ERA of 5.79 in 4.2 IP. IU beat Cincy 7-0 at The Bart back in March.

In the 1st, IU goes down in order.

In UC's 1st, Holderfield gets the leadoff hitter on a ground out and the next batter on a flyout, but the next batter hit a homer to LF on an 0-2 count to give Cincy the lead at 1-0. Holderfield then gives up a single to the OF, but a ground out ends the 1st. The guy that hit the homer in Griffin Merritt is a hitter they have to be careful with since he has 14 homers on the season which leads their conference, and is two more than Ellis who leads the B1G.

Added note: Rutgers had their 16-game winning streak snapped today as their midweek pitchers lost to Princeton, 9-7.

Well, when I’m wrong, I say I’m wrong

I had always thought the Tooth Fairy was the power behind Biden. Turns out it’s the Easter Bunny.

The look on the face of the President of the United States of America when his bunny master shows up is priceless.

I‘m old enough to remember when President Carter survived a killer bunny. What is it with Democrats and bunnies?

Today I was listening to some of Obama’s old speeches…

What a joy it would be to have a capable, respectful, intelligent president again. I never voted for the man and I never would. But he made you feel that this American experiment was such a just and worthwhile ideal.

I don’t know that DeSantis can deliver that, though I like him. He is combative by nature it seems. Trump and Biden are a lost cause. Where do we go from here for leadership?

High School to NBA G League vs OAD

Jalen Green was the first player to sign with the NBA G League from high school under the NBA's new policy that started in 2020. He was drafted by the Rockets with the second pick in the last draft. He started the first 17 games and the Rockets went 1-16 and had lost last 15 straight. He then had a hamstring injury and the Rockets have since gone 6-0 (an aging Eric Gordon hanging in there at age 32 and $18 MM/year by the way). His playing time went to Garrison Mathews grad of Lipscomb who spent a couple seasons in the G League. The improvement is very noticeable with Mathews playing instead of Green.

I thought that the G League early entry program would improve the overall quality of college bball by reducing the number of OAD's but now not sure once NIL is fully in place and no indication that G league results in a more polished player then OAD. I haven't really looked at the likely impact of NIL on college bball but suspect it could be profound. If anyone has looked at it and has a good idea about the impact I would like to hear.

Many posters here (fpeaugh I remember specifically) were convinced that the "great" OAD Zion Williamson was an instant HOF'er/revolutionary player in the NBA. As I thought would be the case, he can't stay healthy. He is feared by the buffet restaurant owners in NOLA but not by other NBA players.

I have only been reading posts recently and think Cavanaugh has improved the quality of the board markedly but I hate to read the negative posts about players and coaches by purported IU fans. I was always complaining about Arch but I am very happy with Woodson and will continue to be happy. Finally, a coach that understands Indiana basketball.

Rankings still a little high

Hopefully this will be the last post on rankings with Reneau signing. I think we all know IU has a pretty strong recruiting class coming in. I would think Banks being named Georgia Mr. Basketball and Gunn coming off a summer injury and tearing it up his senior year their rankings might have come down. Seems both have stayed the same. Am I missing something or are these rankings such as Rivals just off.

"...Those people will pay....There will be consequences."

The words of our demented C in C concerning the Haitian illegals 'whipping' allegations.

DHS Secretary Mayorkis: "horrifying".... 'The investigation will take days, not weeks'.

The usual Leftists idiots also pitched in...... AOC, Maxine, Kamala.

6 months have gone by, and the slandered agents are still on administrative leave. The investigation is 'ongoing'. No apologies, and none can be bothered to comment. They are all trash.

American Unseriousness

An interesting piece about where we are as a country and society at this moment. Read the whole thing

As noted, in many important ways, the United States is in a period of decline in the world. While many will contend this decline is part of the natural rise and fall of great societies, I refuse to accept that. Societies decline for reasons, reasons that we see right now.

There are reasons why we have a group of geriatrics well past their sell-by dates in office and in charge.
There are reasons why we elect unaccomplished and incapable people instead of the best and brightest.
There are reasons why unfettered free expression and open discussion of ideas and opinions is under attack.
Most people in the world do not live under a system that features the consent of the governed. We do. There are reasons for that. There are also reasons why it is now fashionable to reject those who gave us that system.

Most importantly our racial struggles was on the cusp of seeing people for character apart from skin color, we then slammed on the breaks and now again make race and skin color the most important and defining human attribute. There are reasons for that too.

Our decline is by no means inevitable but it is clearly unmistakable. All we need to do is refocus and stop government and policy by irrelevant BS. Dare i say Make America Great Again?

I-69; Delphi

I did not follow the I-69 case over the years, but I see it has now been solved through DNA testing. Interestingly, the sketches of the suspect were pretty much on-point with the appearance of the deceased killer. I assume he was a long-time suspect but maybe someone knowledgeable with the case can advice on that point?

I have become interested in the Delphi case as it has dragged on with no resolution. So questions for those still following the case--(1)Do you believe either Kegan Kline or Tony Kline are Bridge Guy? (2)If you think not, do you think either or both were waiting 'down the hill' and physically committed the murders, or do you think neither was there? (3)If you think neither was BG, do you have an opinion as to who it most likely is? (4)If you have no specific POI in mind, do you believe BG was a random out-of-immediate area/state SK, someone from Carroll County, or someone from nearby (Peru, Lafayette etc)?
