Coach Cig Pre Game Interview

Die anyone catch the pre game sideline interview with Coach?

….”Well that’s what winning does. Winning puts people in the ****ing stands”.

I don’t care for the language and particularly on live television. Following that statement the Interview ends and he jogs to the IU sideline. It was abundantly clear to me that he had this team ready to play. Amazing what he has done for the program. Almost like a modern day Knight in football. Dude is a winner and doesn’t give a sh*t what anyone thinks or says. Determined to win. Google him!

B1G had chaos Saturday

Checking out games around the league it was shocking to see the results with IU beating Nebraska by 49 points leading the way. Michigan, USC, Rutgers, Nebraska, and Northwestern lost in bad ways. Our coaching staff needs to continue doling out the "special sauce" to win games in the B1G.

Add in Texas and Alabama losing make chaos Saturday.

Huddle Shuttle progress

After some initial success, we hit a HUGE snag getting the old floor up. In particular the rails on the floor that the bus seats secure down to. Had to cut probably 100+ bolts with a saws all.

But that’s done and it’s easy street now.

Last week got the door mounted and put a functioning door knob with a lock on it.

Got the first layer of insulation over most of it this weekend, cut and glued. And was able to get the floor treated for rust, a coat of enamel paint, insulated, and now the subfloor glued down.

Next steps are to install the RV windows, insulate the ceiling, attach my framing, & install the exterior cameras. Then I’ll be able to get it the paint shop and then hit the home stretch.

Been quite the endeavor, but still moving forward.

IU playing Man vs Zone coverage

Raiola’s Passer rating vs Zone coverage, which IU plays most of the time, is 90%. Against Man to Man, only 44.5%. That’s obviously a drastic difference. How does IU not let him get into a good rhythm back there?

Coaches or others in the know here, do you see IU switching this up on Saturday to play more press/man coverage to take advantage of this stat? If so, how much can a predominantly zone team, like IU, change up in just a 2 week window to prep?

They didn't sh!t the bed but dropped a deuce on the Huskers

Well back from the first IU FB game I've been at in Bloomington in quite a while. Offense is legit. Defense is solid although I would prefer something along the lines of the "85 Bears. The first unit defense will do nicely for now. Still not ready to put on my rose colored glasses, yet. Each week is a test just as hard and important as the week before it and it isn't going to get easier. Although it is eye candy for the fans, I will be disappointed if IU is not #10 in the next rankings.

Son now wants to be a firefighter--what do I do?

Freshmen had a career day today. My son went to: business, engineering, paramedic, electrician, and firefighter.

He's all excited about being a firefighter (no, he's not 5). $75K starting salary if you do overtime, and you work one day on (24 hrs), two days off. **** around a lot at the fire station. Can do a second job or run a business on the side (plumber?). Good benefits. Can make about $150K if you stay at it (at 10 or 15 yrs in?).

I started to steer him the other way, and now I'm sitting here thinking damn it, that's a good freakin' deal! Wonder if you could do this while also going to college? Become a philosopher/firefighter? Roadhouse 2 script, anyone???
