I just Spoke with the Capper.

He left Keenland tonight going to Bloomington to be at the biggest game in years. He said except for Mallory we have played Mirical football for years. Saturday against Nebraska we begin big boy football. He said give the points and have a little faith. The Capper doesn't work, hangs out at the Track and can cash a check in any bar in three states.

Apologies to Alex Smith

Until yesterday, my favorite IU game was September 17, 1994 at Kentucky. Alex Smith said “hello” with 221 yards and led IU to a 59-29 stomp of my most-hated IU rival, got us to 3-0 and set the stage for Coach Mallory’s last winning season.

Yesterday, after the Talking Head world spent a week talking up the Nebraska defense and trying to sow doubt about our Rebuilt Buzz Saw, we kicked down The Door of Proof and sent a message. The New Indiana is gonna be a problem for err’body!

1. Nebraska Dismantlement
2. Alex Stomps Kentucky
3. IU Makes Bo Whine
4. Darkest Day 1
5. Darkest Day 2

This reminds me of Northwestern in the mid-90s.

The Wildcats were everybody’s second favorite team for quite a while. Anybody’s skepticism before yesterday was understandable . But not anymore. The Hoosiers are now on a national stage. And they are going to be performing at sellout venues.

Kudos to Jackson! Next week we will probably see a run-dominated offense similar to Tuttle against Wisconsin.

This is very exciting!

Coach Cig Pre Game Interview

Die anyone catch the pre game sideline interview with Coach?

….”Well that’s what winning does. Winning puts people in the ****ing stands”.

I don’t care for the language and particularly on live television. Following that statement the Interview ends and he jogs to the IU sideline. It was abundantly clear to me that he had this team ready to play. Amazing what he has done for the program. Almost like a modern day Knight in football. Dude is a winner and doesn’t give a sh*t what anyone thinks or says. Determined to win. Google him!
