I realize you’re all excited about the playoffs and/or the B1G Championship game. Even if you happen to lose in Columbus on 11.23 - you’re in the playoffs. The only scenario I could see that would put that in peril is a blowout loss at the Shoe….but that’s not going to happen. You certainly have the team that can win that game. If not it will still be a close hard fought loss. So enjoy the times, enjoy what you’ve accomplished and look forward to bigger games ahead.

Since evangelical (and what does that term even mean anymore?) Christianity and Trump have become inexplicably woven together, I’m curious how many Trump voters truly read and study the Bible. I’m not being judgmental at all if you don’t. Mine has collected dust for many years at a time through the years. There are great Muslims, great Jews, great atheists, etc… so this is not a proselytizing post. But I’ve read and studied a lot the past few years and I truly don’t see how there is a connection with Trump and Christianity. The words and teachings of Jesus, regardless of what your religious and philosophical thinking in, are in general mostly diametrically opposed to everything Trump says and stands for. I’m sure if anyone answers this will likely turn into a sh!t show like most every other thread, but I’m truly curious and trying to get some clarification so don’t say I don’t try

After watching IU football pull out another win I keep thinking about our basketball program and reality. The reality is the ceiling for IU basketball is the sweet 16. We are not going to win a league championship with Woodson. We have seen player after player at the guard position that is a high level recruit choose to go elsewhere. There is a reason for that and it’s not from a lack of cash. I realize it’s only November and I am dumping on the program after only 1 game played this season. BUT……we have seen all we need to see out of Woodson. I respect him and appreciate him leading our program his way. But if Cig proves anything, it shows having the right guy leading the team can take a program far. Save this post for the end of the season and hopefully I am dead wrong and get roasted. But I highly doubt it.

If someone already has a similar thread going, my apologies. Haven't had time to read everything that's been posted today.

I missed the Washington game and the ESPN Game Day that morning, but I can't imagine a more electric environment than what I experienced yesterday. There was literally a buzz around the stadium that you could hear walking up Dunn when we were still a distance from the stadium and the lots, and long before the game started.

After too many seasons of "nobody cares" football, this is so incredible to see.

The weather couldn't have been better. The sun broke through just before kick and it was tee-shirt weather the first half. The temperature dropped after sunset but it never got cold.

I have spectacular phone video of the white adidas towels against a sea of red, and have to think this played really well on TV. (I DVR'd the game but haven't had time to play it back yet).

There were plenty of UM fans scattered throughout the stadium but, at least from my vantage point, it looked like they were treated respectfully (mostly) and they, in turn, were fine.

This isn't a complaint (our fans were great throughout the game) but an observation, and my son noticed it as well. Despite the packed house and the amped-up crowd, it didn't seem exceptionally loud in the stadium. Before the game, I anticipated deafening crowd noise that might contribute to some false starts or otherwise disrupt Michigan's offense (which isn't great to begin with), but I didn't see any evidence of that. Maybe I'm simply off base here, or maybe it was a function of where we were sitting (or, more accurately, standing, as we were on our feet for most of the game). I'd like to hear what other people in attendance noticed about the noise level.

The game itself was too close for comfort, and Michigan must have made some nice halftime adjustments because they dominated the second half at the LOS and otherwise. I have to admit that when UM closed the gap to 17-15, I started thinking this is going to end 18-17. (How many times have we seen developments like that over the years?!). But this is the NEW Indiana, and we held on for the W.

This was the first time all season where the outcome was in doubt late in the game. Someone in our group said that maybe, in the long run, a nail-biter will help the team. As the competition gets tougher in two weeks and then in the post-season, a close game won't be a new experience for IU and they'll be better equipped to handle the pressure.

I had the power to fire Woodson in the locker room during halftime. I am so over this non coaching sh!t show.

Just one game I want to see Buckner on the floor during a game. I am going to walk up, introduce myself, thank him for his playing days and then tell him the he and Woodson need to get the hell out of their current positions and let Dolson run the show. After that I’ll probably be dismissed from the AH. 😂

So Brad Jr. went to his first high school party last night. Kid he knew since elementary school threw it. He and a neighbor went together (walked to it).

30 minutes later they're back at my house. They left because it was "boring." About 100 kids, lots of girls, some dressed in quite revealing Halloween outfits (learned this from another neighbor whose daughter went and stayed until the end). Lots of alcohol there--beer, liquor. Parents knew, supplied some, and were there at the time. When I asked, so what was boring about it, Brad Jr. said "they were just standing around listening to music." (I'm guessing part of it was fear).

By 10 pm, several kids were hammered (per my other source) including a few girls who were "crossed"--for the uninitiated, that means both high and drunk. The parents then told the kids to leave (many kids also brought backpacks of booze into the party, by the way) and when they didn't go quickly, called the cops on their own party and it was broken up by the police.

So, for parents out there, how do you feel about this? I'm OK with my son experiencing it (and kinda wished he had stayed longer to see actual drunk people act stupidly and just get used to an environment like that) but am really turned off by parents hosting a party with booze for 14 and 15 year olds. I guess I'm a full-fledged parent now, because all I could think of was, what happens if one of those kids gets hit by a car while walking home hammered (this is an urban suburb, so everything is pretty close)? Or the girls get harassed, or worse, walking around at night, drunk, in a sexy outfit?

So there are a few threads about potential outcomes, etc., but I wanted to throw this thought out there for those who need to travel from out of state to a game in Btown.

If IU finishes ranked 5, 6, 7, or 8, then IU would host a first round CFP game in Btown on either Dec. 20 or Dec. 21. Given this scenario and the fact that I live just outside of Denver, I went ahead and bought plane tickets to arrive in Indy on Dec. 19. Fortunately, I have a place to stay in Btown so hotels won't be a problem.

If IU ends up a 4 seed or higher or something else happens where they don't host a game, I bought with points so no loss of money. But if they do host on one of those two days, plane ticket prices are currently reasonable and not $500 for a one-way like it was for the Washington game.

The other scenario (to my benefit) is IU finishes ranked 9-12, Colorado wins the B12 and finishes ranked 5-8, and CU ends up hosting IU.

Just throwing out some planning ideas. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of the above. Final CFB rankings and matchups will be announced Dec. 8.

Talked to several prospects that were in Bloomington this weekend. The message is clear: they are loving what they see from IU football and coach Cig.

I checked out the OU page/board today and saw several references to Coach Cig being (by far) the popular choice to replace Brent Venables. Not surprising at at, by assuming Dolson responds with new/bigger contracts for Cigs and staff I just don’t see him leaving. Cigs will have a ton of leverage when he and Dolson talk business! What a great time to be an IU fan !

Indiana had just completed a pass that Price caught inside the Michigan 5 yard line that resulted in a first and goal. The refs decided to bail UM out by throwing laundry and get Indiana for a tickey tack rub/pass interference call.

Not only was our WR knocked out of the game on this particular play but it absolutely robbed Indiana of a sure touchdown that would've made the score 21-3 heading into halftime. This call kept Michigan in the game and stole momentum.
