Should we still be talking about this every day? Reporting the number of days of captivity? Tying yellow ribbons around trees and flying flags at half mast? [Is any of that going on now? Is Biden flying flags at half staff until our hostages come home?**]. Another asks Carter: why aren't you talking about it more?

Michigan's Tracy Smith is hiring Ty Neal who was an assistant coach under Smith at IU for almost Smith's entire coaching career at IU. Neal left IU to become the Cincinnati Bearcats head coach a year before Smith left IU for Arizona State. Neal replaces former IU star player Josh Phegley who has departed.

How do we stand with the 3 Indiana Elite guys? Does getting Haralson cost them the chance at all 3? Who is standing out in summer workouts?

All I can tell folks is that folks in Bloomington are raving about the 2 guards that transferred in. That Tucker is a stud...and that getting Covid in your late 50's sucks ass.

Check out the reporting from today's appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists convention. It's a total train wreck. His staffers ended the questioning because he was doing so poorly. So many videos will be lifted from this appearance that will damage Trump's campaign and down-ballot efforts. Trump said that Harris only turned black a few years ago. Before then she identified as Indian. He repeated his line that illegal immigrants were taking black jobs. He was asked if he would pardon those convicted of assaulting police officers on January 6 and he replied, Yes, absolutely.

Disclaimer...Its July. There aren't very many things as useless as a summer Bracketology, in terms of actual analysis and predictions.

But its a conversation starter.

At first glance, seeing the 5 seed was disappointing. And I do think this team could be better than that. But... a 5 seed does mean we're viewed roughly as a "Top 20" team at years end. And from the rest of the B10 teams listed as in the tournament, IU would have the 2nd highest seed (Purdue at 4). So maybe that also would imply we'd be contending at the top of the conference.

So this gets back to everyone's expectations... If we did finish 2nd in the regular season, were a top 20 ish team at years end, and got a 5 seed...is that a good year for Woody and the program?
