Beat the Buckeyes

Still short handed at guard, IU needs this game more than OSU.
24 hours to game time and no spread yet … I’ll guess IU +6.5 (I see IU +7 posted now)
IU should be confident with Race and Trayce’s one-two punch. tOSU knows it’s coming.
Will the home court make the refs swallow their whistles’ while Trayce is shooting 1/2 hooks?
St John’s was always a hard place to play. Story was that OSU was short-handed At IU.
I think Race and Trayce will have confidence to pull the train into the Monon station.
IU Cannot afford to miss at the FT line this game.

With just Xavier Johnson as the lone point guard on the roster at full health, it will once again be a team effort off of the bench against Ohio State on Monday to provide some spot minutes of rest for Johnson.

"I think that Anthony Leal comes into play, same with Tamar Bates," Woodson said. "They do not press a lot but will play a 2-2-1 occasionally back to a 2-3 zone. They do not trap a lot, so we have guards that can get the ball up the floor. Initiating and getting us into our offense based on our quick strikes, they are not used to doing that.

"It is what it is. I cannot worry about the fact that we don’t have certain guys. We just have to mix and match and see what happens."

Indiana sits at 16-9 (7-8) and are ninth in the Big Ten after losing four games in a row. The Hoosiers also sit at No. 48 in the KenPom rankings and No. 44 in the NET. In most projected NCAA Tournament brackets, they sit at one of the 'last four in' or 'first four out' categories.

This MI/UW situation should not really surprise us

We all knew this (or worse) was coming right?

In fact, this incident, as ugly as it is, might help prevent a more serious on-court incident before the end of the season. The BIG is a mess right now as the games have become wrestling matches. Wrestling matches complete with trash talking, cheap shots, taunting, flopping, and hard fouling all enabled and made worse by horrific officiating that not only creates late game chaos but refuses to hold accountable the players and coaches that do the trash talking and cheap shots all while allowing the better players to blatantly travel, arm bar and be awarded laughable charges.

Warren needs to get this under control, but I have little faith given the messes he has created in FB.

This league sucks right now.

Sunday funnies

Many or even most of you have probably seen this before, but I just happened on the series this past week and this one was hilarious. I don't watch late night tv as a rule, so I never saw this, even though it's 10+ years old. I initially discovered the "I ate all your Halloween candy" vids, which were damn funny to begin with. But then this one popped up and struck me as even funnier. If you haven't seen it before, hopefully it'll bring a chuckle. I laughed so hard my sides hurt...

Big Ten players who need to step up for their programs next season - non QBs

Rivals national writer Mike Farrell looks at a non QB for each Big Ten program that needs to step up next year.

Tweek the lineup?

I love Xavier's aggressiveness on offense and how Galloway can ignite a team with his hustle plays. Problem is down the stretch they were left wide open for big shots. They both chucked up bricks that weren't close. So until we recruit some shooters how about platoon Leal, Kopf, and Stewart down the stretch. Hell, the kid from Zionsville might be able to hit a shot down the stretch. JK

One more thing. Take a look at IU's free throw percentage in the second half of close games. Those misses probably could have made a difference. Didn't see Wiscy miss to many. Oh well, recruit some scorers and outside shooters and maybe I'll quit posting.
