It was nice chatting with a large group of knowledgeable and mature fans about a big CBB topic that didn’t attack just because of rivalry. Sadly, the anngry internet incels have now descended so I shall set myself to the exit.

For the offseason, not much, if anything, is more wild and exciting than a UK coaching change.
Pope may do very well. Big NIL pledges already coming in. If he isn't good, he'll be gone in three years.

I like the hire as I can talk crap to my coworkers but Pope is a good coach.
Definitely a changing of the guard happening now among cbb coaches. Be interesting who hits it big, and who strikes out. I'd wish you luck, sobester, but I just can't find it in me.
It's good that IU fans are following the UK saga; we could be in the same situation a year from now and can learn from what they've gone through.

I love when we zing Richie. Got him pretty good this week.
RIchie's actually grown on me. I don't mind him, I tease about burning couches and cooking meth, but all in fun. He takes it much better than those Paint Crew nerds who linger here looking for a pat on the head.

It’s a game we play. He respects me and I respect him. He will admit when he’s wrong.
Pope is a solid hire. He won enough at BYU, comes from the UK program, and learned under Rick P. He just doesn’t have the panache of other P5 coaches/candidates. Will be fun to watch and see how he does… with recruiting, with winning in the SEC and in March and perhaps most importantly, how he handles the alumni. UK alum need to rally behind him, after being turned down so fast and so publicly by some of the top names in the game. Let’s see if they do.
