He’s in portal. Played well at Bradley and 40% 3pt shooter. Played at Bloomington South. Visiting IU this weekend. Is he better than Leal? 6’3 180lbs
Really good shooter, would struggle to be a two-way player in this conference but we need bodies. His shooting is better than any one aspect Leal brings to the table. He’s in portal. At Bradley, he was a shooting guard.....
Isn't that a bad position to be in? "We need bodies". Does that mean we will take lesser players?Really good shooter, would struggle to be a two-way player in this conference but we need bodies. His shooting is better than any one aspect Leal brings to the table.
Woodson needs elite athletic guards for his nba offense to work. Hickman, Cupps, Galloway, Leal do not fit the bill for the offense he runs. If he ran a different offense it would be different but none of them except maybe gaolloway can beat guys one on one. He has to get several very athletic guards in the portal.Really good shooter, would struggle to be a two-way player in this conference but we need bodies. He doesn't need elite athletic guards for it to work. He needs to properly construct a roster. Ditching the two traditional big lineup is a start. Stop taking every bot Twitter post you read at face value.Woodson needs elite athletic guards for his nba offense to work. Hickman, Cupps, Galloway, Leal do not fit the bill. We already have four guards. Newton, Leal, Galloway, and Cupps. If we land Perkins and Tucker that is six. You may be able to add one more guard after that but probably not a high impact guy as perkins, tucker, and galloway are going to eat up a majority of the minutes. My guess is if he came it would certainly be as a backup fighing for 10 minutes a game.He is a better shooter than Leal but not quite as big and likely not as good of a defender. He would struggle to get shots for us. Just the fact that we're comparing him to Leal says he isn't going to move the needle for us. Best case, he comes of the bench. Does he want to wear an IU uniform bad enough to do that?
