Holy shit! Now the MAGAts have two former Trumpers to attack? Gonna be a busy weekend.
It's gonna be a lot more than two when all is said and done. Many more guilty pleas coming (although I think Chesebro's plea today was the last for a while) and I wouldn't be shocked if not a single defendant in the Georgia case takes it to verdict.

Fani Willis is experienced with racketeering cases and she knows exactly what she's doing, procedurally and otherwise. This is a strong case and she's going to get convictions for most if not all of the 19 defendants.

There's one guy for sure who is going to plead - - Rudy. He's got no money and he is probably even more jail-averse than Trump. There is no way he risks going to the slammer. He'll plead to something and agree to testify against Trump in return for no jail time, and you can take that to the bank.

“Prosecutors said in court that Chesebro acknowledged in the plea that he “created and distributed false Electoral College documents” to Trump operatives in Georgia and other states, and that he worked “in coordination with” the Trump campaign.

Chesebro and other Trump allies hoped then-Vice President Mike Pence would use the GOP electors to justify delaying Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s victory – or even throw out Biden’s lawful electors and recognize the fake GOP slates instead on January 6, 2021.“

Let’s let dbm explain to us why this is akin to a parking ticket.

Now, now. Be kind.

A parking ticket involves several different legalisms, but dbm says he is not a lawyer (but nonetheless he automatically says every time that Trump is innocent of everything under the sun and the guilty pleas of Powell and Cheesebro don't matter).

Dbm just doesn't understand.

As usual, GOPers are all projection, all the time. If they're complaining about someone rigging the election, they're trying to rig an election. Need an abortion? No problem as long as they've knocked someone up. Sexual predators? Elect them to the Presidency and the Speaker of the House.

Total weirdos.

We must do something about all these democrats rigging elections!

Interesting. IANAL, and haven’t followed this case that closely, but I would’ve guessed Rudy as being the loyal soldier going down with the Trump Titantic. The Gordon Liddy of Trump World.

Rudy is old, drunk, and in over his head. He's desperate to find a way to get out from under and will continue to grasp at straws until there are no straws -- real or imagined -- left. It's actually sad to watch. If it wasn't for what he did to the poll worker ladies in Georgia, I'd okay with him getting off.

He’ll break too. At his age any prison time is essentially a life sentence. No way he’s going down with the SS Trumptanic.

I dunno. Rudy is a drunk, and drunks will try to finagle or maneuver or manipulate or scam their way out of any shit they find themselves in, up until the hammer drops.

I used to really like Rudy.

Like everyone else, once he hitched up to the Trump Train, it was all over. Trump will do nothing to help these poor fools. He threw his own son Eric under the bus in his deposition for the fraud case in New York.

It’s amazing people think Trump will ever be loyal to them. Poor Ivana’s body is used for a tax write off at his golf course.

Dig it:

“He has seemingly turned his late ex-wife (and his oldest kids have turned their late mother) into a tax dodge. Dartmouth professor Brooke Harrington, a specialist in tax optimization, checked the New Jersey tax code and reported that operating a cemetery at the Trump National offers “a trifecta of tax avoidance. Property, income & sales tax, all eliminated.” She tweeted that it “looks like one corpse will suffice to make at least 3 forms of tax vanish.”

I’m with you there, but when the hammer drops, and it will, he will fold.

By that time it will be too late.
Well, The Kraken and Chesebro’s trials were starting on Monday. They folded at the very last minute. Rudy will do the same..

I thought dbm is a lawyer. He’s said it several times and I just shake my head.

Your comment about Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss got me thinking. While subverting the will of voters is a very real, dangerous and damaging course of conduct and victimizes voters generally, Giuliani and Trump took things to another level when they went after Freeman and Moss specifically, falsely claiming they were taking ballots out of suitcases after vote counting had ended on election night, and even suggesting they were drug dealers. Death threats followed.

I still believe Giuliani would jump at a sweetheart plea deal, but he doesn't deserve one and may not be offered one.

If enough people flip first, they may not need Rudy and let his pickled ass rot. You never know, ol’ Rudy might like prison hooch.
