Sleepers

Started listening to these guys last year, to hear outside perspective on our program and the rest of the B10. Felt they really enjoy trolling and trashing Hoosiers as MSU/UM guys, but do think they get good info, and they were certainly right about us last year. They love what CMW has done this year. They did an IU v PU analysis position by position and I think wound up giving IU a 4-1 advantage. They do hang on PU's nutsack however and I think at least 1 so far has predicted Braden as B10 POY, and believe right now those are the 2 best rosters in the B10. They both ranked PU around 9/10 and had IU just behind. They now seem to be enjoying trashing Woody, which is an improvement for ragging on a freshman Gabe Cupps all year.

Big year for Woody. Time for IU to accomplish something besides making the tourney. I think this team should be playing for a B10 title and surviving beyond the first week of the tourney.

2025 Recruiting

Woodson and staff members will see 2025 five-star guard Jalen Haralson of La Lumiere, 2025 national top-20 prospect Darius Adams of La Lumiere, 2025 four-star Greenfield-Central shooting guard Braylon Mullins and 2025 four-star Heritage Hills forward Trent Sisley all today.

For those of you in the know, what percent of a chance does IU have of getting any of these four?

A 6-foot-6 guard, Haralson is the No. 11-ranked player in the country in the 2025 class by 247Sports. Haralson helped La Lumiere to a national top-10 ranking this past season.
Haralson has an array of skills, can play three positions, has exceptional physical tools, and has continued to grow his offensive game.

Adams is a 6-foot-5 combo guard ranked No. 18 in the country. Adams is an outstanding scorer and shot maker.

A 6-foot-8 forward, Sisley is ranked No. 61 in the 2025 class by 247Sports, and Mullins is currently ranked No. 95 in the 2025 class.

Mullins was one of the stars of the opening weekend on the Adidas circuit. He shot the ball very well, including making eight 3-pointers in one game.

That weekend was his first game back from a back injury suffered during the high school season, and Mullins certainly showed what he can do when healthy.
Sisley also had a good opening weekend, scoring on the move, getting rebounds and hitting shots.
Sisley and Mullins are teammates on a very talented Indiana Elite squad that started spring play 4-0.

Zakaria: The presidential election isn’t playing out how I thought it would

My guru Fareed Zakaria paints a dim picture concerning the likelihood of Biden being elected.

He offers several points which point to a Trump victory and concludes by saying....

The one that troubles me most concerns the question of who is more competent. Biden led Trump by nine points in 2020, but Trump now leads by 16 points in 2024. That 25-point shift could be a reflection of people’s sense that the president’s age is affecting his capacity to govern. If so, there is very little that Biden can do to change that perception.

Michigan @ IU, Game 2: Early run barrage beats Michigan, 11-2...

This game is on BTN.

IU is in the position of having to win the last two games of the series. When you lose to a team in Game 1 that hit just .156 at the plate, you wonder if this team can even salvage the series. A lot of things would have to happen, but there is a scenario where IU could miss the B1G tournament, so they need at least one win in this series to avoid that slim possibility.

It's RHP Connor Foley on the mound for IU with an ERA of 4.10 in 52.2 IP and a WHIP of 1.20 with an OBA of .158.

It's RHP Chase Allen on the mound for Michigan and he had an ERA of 6.52 in 58.0 IP and a WHIP of 1.66 with an OBA of .304.

1st inning:

T1st:

Foley got the leadoff hitter on a grounder. Foley then walked a batter on a full count. With the next batter having a full count, the runner stole 2nd.

Foley then walked another batter on a full count to put runners on 1sat and 2nd.

Foley gets a grounder with the batter reaching 1st on a FC with the runner out at 2nd and the lead runner taking 3rd and two outs and runners on the corners.

Foley has thrown a lot of pitches in the inning, and he went to another full count on a batter, but he got the hitter on a shallow pop out to retire the side with runners stranded on the corners.

B1st:

Taylor walked on a full count to lead off. Pyne flied out and Mitchell was hit by a pitch to put two on and one out.

Cerny doubled to score Taylor to give IU another early lead at 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out. Brenczewski hit a SAC fly to score Mitchell to give IU an early crooked number for what seems like forever.

Cerny was at 3rd with two outs. Tibbitts hit a double while taking 3rd on an error and IU was up 3-0.

Mathison was up with two outs and Tibbitts at 3rd. Mathison beat out an infield grounder for a single and Cerny scoring to make it 4-0 IU. Three of the IU runs were earned. Stadler flied out to end the inning.

End of 1st: IU 4 Michigan 0

B1G scores for Saturday and final regular season B1G standings...

Rutgers 12 OSU 1 - OSU could have jumped up to the 6-seed, but their loss gave Purdue the 6-seed.

MSU 11 Neb 6 - The Husker loss gave the outright title to the Illini and it wouldn't have mattered anyway with the Illini beating Purdue later in the day.

Illinois 18 Purdue 10 - The Illini won the B1G title by two games over the Huskers. Purdue was already locked into the 6-seed with the OSU loss earlier in the day.

Minn 4 NW 2 - Both teams saw their season come to an end.

Iowa 16 FIU 4 - Iowa won the non-conference series, 2-1, and they were locked into the 5-seed entering the day.
