Diamant Blazi Status?

Anybody have any inside information on this HS recruit? After watching highlight videos, he looks to be exactly what IU needs. Rim Protector, Shot-Blocking Machine, 6'8", 190lb, G/F, w/ 7' 2" Wingspan, and a 42" Vertical. Who can also drive the floor, from rebound to slam dunk, and, can shoot the 3 pointer, with a reasonable rate of success. Not listed, at all, by Rivals, 247sports, ESPN, or any of the rating sites. Visited IU at the end of March, but no word since. Has only played in the US in his Senior year, at Jordan Christian Prep, in Auburndale, Fla, so maybe that's why they don't include him in their HS player rankings. Anybody? Anything?

Dennett’s attitude towards religion

This article lists some of the high points (not even close to enough, in my mind) of Dan Dennett’s thought.

On religion:

Religion doesn’t need to be abolished—merely fixed
Does religion “poison everything,” as my dear, late friend Hitch [Christopher Hitchens] insisted on saying? Only in a very attenuated sense, I think. Many things are quite harmless in moderation and poisonous only in quantity. I understand why Hitch emphasized this view; as a foreign correspondent he had much first-hand, dangerous experience with the worst features of religion, while I know of all that only at second hand—often from his reportage. I, in contrast, have known people whose lives would be desolate and friendless if it weren’t for the non-judgemental welcome they have received in one religious organization or another. I regret the residual irrationalism valorized by almost all religion, but I don’t see the state playing the succoring, comforting role well, so until we find secular successor organizations to take up that humane task, I am not in favor of ushering churches off the scene. I would rather assist in transforming these organizations into forms that are not caught in the trap of irrational—and necessarily insincere—allegiance to patent nonsense.

I fear that Cignetti…

…doesn’t yet have a realistic view of what it is going to take to be competitive in the B10. He’s filling this roster out with a bunch of former JMU and other Sun Belt level athletes. His arrogance could be leading him to believe that it won’t matter. There may be a sobering, reality check in store for us this fall….

IU @ Purdue, Game 3: 9th inning rally gives IU the win and the series, 5-4...

It's a huge game for both teams and RHP Ty Rybarczyk will be on the mound for IU with an ERA of 6.86 in 19.2 IP and a WHIP of 1.63 with an OBA of .301. The batting order is the same as yesterday.

Purdue will have Kyle Iwinski on the mound with an ERA of 7.26 in 31.0 IP and a WHIP of 1.55 with an OBA of .304.

It's 64 and partly sunny with the wind out of the SSE at 4 mph.

1st inning:

T1st:

Taylor singled to start the game. Pyne flied out on a diving catch by the outfielder with Taylor still at 1st.

Mitchell reached on a FC with Taylor out at 2nd and two outs.

Cerny singled to put runners on the corners with two outs and Brenczewski up.

Brenczewski hit a hard liner to RF but it was right to the outfielder to retire the side.

B1st:

The leadoff hitter got a double that went to the wall in right center. An infield single put runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs.

A flyout put runners on the corners with one out. A single put the Boilers on the board and runners still on the corners with one out. All hits so far have been hard hit.

Rybarczyk got a big K for the 2nd out and runners still on the corners.

A groundout ended the inning and Rybarczyk limited the damage to one run.

End of 1st: PU 1 IU 0

Well, what'dya know.... the Government admits to mishandling Trump documents

"In their filing, prosecutors acknowledged the government had previously — and incorrectly — told U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon that the boxes remained “in their original, intact form as seized,” other than a decision to replace classified documents with placeholder sheets.

That depiction, the prosecutors conceded, is “inconsistent” with their current understanding that some of the documents are not now in the same order as they appear in digital scans of the records that were made in the fall of 2022 after Cannon ordered an unusual process to review whether the FBI may have seized legally privileged records.
“There are some boxes where the order of items within that box is not the same as in the associated scans,” prosecutors wrote, adding in a footnote: “The Government acknowledges that this is inconsistent with what Government counsel previously understood and represented to the Court.”

"Smith’s lawyers say the apparent jumble took place despite various precautions, including having an FBI agent present while an outside vendor scanned the documents so that Trump’s attorneys could see what was seized. The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ultimately halted the review Cannon ordered."

In other words, somebody has ****ed with the documents, but gee..... they have no idea how or why. And why did the Appeals Court halt the review.

Looking more and more like Hurricane Crossfire redux.

2025 Recruiting

Woodson and staff members will see 2025 five-star guard Jalen Haralson of La Lumiere, 2025 national top-20 prospect Darius Adams of La Lumiere, 2025 four-star Greenfield-Central shooting guard Braylon Mullins and 2025 four-star Heritage Hills forward Trent Sisley all today.

For those of you in the know, what percent of a chance does IU have of getting any of these four?

A 6-foot-6 guard, Haralson is the No. 11-ranked player in the country in the 2025 class by 247Sports. Haralson helped La Lumiere to a national top-10 ranking this past season.
Haralson has an array of skills, can play three positions, has exceptional physical tools, and has continued to grow his offensive game.

Adams is a 6-foot-5 combo guard ranked No. 18 in the country. Adams is an outstanding scorer and shot maker.

A 6-foot-8 forward, Sisley is ranked No. 61 in the 2025 class by 247Sports, and Mullins is currently ranked No. 95 in the 2025 class.

Mullins was one of the stars of the opening weekend on the Adidas circuit. He shot the ball very well, including making eight 3-pointers in one game.

That weekend was his first game back from a back injury suffered during the high school season, and Mullins certainly showed what he can do when healthy.
Sisley also had a good opening weekend, scoring on the move, getting rebounds and hitting shots.
Sisley and Mullins are teammates on a very talented Indiana Elite squad that started spring play 4-0.

Unhinged Trump compares Biden Administration to Nazi Germany

Guy is losing it (assuming he ever had it). In a rambling, angry, profanity-laced 90-minute speech yesterday, he compared the Biden Administration to the Gestapo, and hurled invective at the prosecutors involved in his several indictments.

He also offered immediate time on stage (with him) to anyone who agreed, on the spot, to donate $1 million to his campaign. Two people took him up on the offer. One of the million-dollar donors, a woman, proclaimed: "Donald J. Trump is the person God has chosen!"

Crazy Town.
