Purdue now dominates us in both football and basketball. Despite all of their disadvantages they’re proving with a good president and AD you can really turn around programs quickly.
They’re an engineering and agriculture school based in West Lafayette, Indiana with very little tradition or history of success.
15 years with one coach. No final fours. Your double standards are ridiculous. Stfu
I didn’t believe that - but searched Painter’s history...
In last 12 years, won the B10 3 times, has finished 1 or 2 in B10 7 times, and 3rd twice. Did have a terrible 3 year stretch in there as well...
Took over the 11th place team(3-13) in first season, improved to 4th in second season(9-7), and then the 12 years I mentioned above...
It's not about that, j-a. It's the double standard that you apply to everything to fit your agenda. If iu had a coach for 15 years with painters results, you would have jumped off the deep end a long time ago. But because it fits your narrative to bash iu at every turn as the "voice of reason," you look to one elite 8 in 15 years as evidence that purdue has it all figured out.
If it was Butler, Notre Dame, Valpo or Evansville, I’m sure he would, as would all other dyed in the wool, hardcore fans of Hoosier Nation living in Indiana.

I hear IU hate all week at work from Purdue alums and fans, I NEVER want them to win another game.
They deface anything IU that I bring to work, and I never touch any of their Purdue crap.
They completely hate IU and pour coffee on my IU banner, Sharpie on my IU poster efacing every player and Archie's faces, and a big "IU S**ks".
They suck, so because of my PU over zealous fan co-workers, I hate them.
I can't wait for the Monday morning cryfest.
I think I will bring donuts to celebrate.
They might take a knife to my chair before I arrive.

Not me, I'll do hand springs. It's a rival, not a comparison to IU. Seeing them lose brings me a lot of joy. Always will.
I wish more IU fans thought like us. It’s a different fan base out there today, a kinder, more gentle one...not the kind of fans we had back in the days of you-know-who when we all took on our coaches demeanor. Sadly, a lot of fans today we tell you our greatest rival is Kentucky when we don’t even play them anymore. Purdue will always be a thorn in our side. Let’s celebrate their defeat, as they did ours when we lost the national championship game to Maryland.
No I don’t want Painter. Purdue and IU should have different standards.
That said, he’s light years ahead of Archie. It’s not even close. If I had to take Archie for 5 years or Painter for 10 I’d take Painter all day every day. Get a clue man.

PU has the most BT titles in bball.
IU has just north of zero tradition in football where as PU was known as the cradle of quarterbacks because they have had some dandies. They have even won a national championship in football along with 8 BT titles.

Purdue had a great season, and the game last night was epic. A free-throw away from the final four.
The former has nothing to do with athletics and the latter is just flat wrong.
Purdue has won more conference championships than any other B10 school (with 24, two more than we have). The notion that Purdue has “little tradition or history of success” is absurd.
Even with him shooting lights out they still couldn't pull it off... so, does he come back?
Edwards’ draft stock certainly rose with his performance in the tourney — most especially against Villanova and Virginia. He could find himself in the 1st round. If so, I doubt he’d return. But he very well could — he may be really hungry for another shot at a NC and a belief that his draft stock could go even higher with a 4th season.
We’ll see.

That's lame.....I root against PU in women's swimming. I dont mind rooting for some B1G teams, but never PU.

Not really. That guy was given every chance, and then some, to stay within the rules. He work d overtime to get booted, was given several reinstatements, and still couldn’t be decent. In the end, it wasn’t a difficult decision to make given all he had done and said. He knows that, by the way. Amnesty got him back in the door here.
