So I go to lunch with 2 colleagues.
One is a pain.
Everywhere we go he wants to be known - get perfect service - etc.

So today the joint we eat in is shorthanded - schools out - not everybody shows up
Our order gets lost and is late
He acts like a jerk
Waiter comes to tell us and he tells him "just shut up and bring the food."
Manager comes to apologize and he says "yada yada bullshit"
Trolling to get fee food - and it works.
Meal gets comped - by the server.

I sneak out to the bar to use plastic to give the guy a tip anyway.
Manager acts bothered - "I'd have to charge you for something to process the tip - too much hassle"
I literally have to force the guy to ring me up SOMETHING so I could tip a server who was not at fault - while the guy I was with sits back bitching loud for all to hear.

WTF is wrong with people?

My ex-wife is like that... she will troll for a free meal the minute she finds an angle. Food was not warm enough, not what I ordered (usually BS), etc... I wanted to crawl under the table when she would start.

You are probably in the clear.....though your colleague may have had some special dna on his burger from said waiter. Any sign of the waiter after lunch? He may have been the one standing in the corner laughing his ass off?
