Wow does Texas Tech guard people

Nope,if they touch the ball with both hands and the balk touches the floor they cannot dribble again.
The only way they can is if the ball is knocked out of their hands.
I kept waiting for the whistle last night for them to call it.
I couldn’t believe it wasn’t brought up until after the game was over.
There was absolutely a double dribble and if it had been called - right in front of an official - the rest would not have happened since the ball would have gone over to Auburn.

Maybe you or someone else can help me. If a player is dribbling and loses control of the ball can't they get the ball back, possess it and dribble it again. I admit I might not be seeing things correctly. Thanks.
If a player ends their dribble by touching it with 2 hands, they cannot dribble again. That includes picking up their dribble by holding it with either one or two hands. The Virginia player bobbled his dribble losing it onto the floor having had it hit his heal. He reached down with two hands to pick it up. That ended his dribble. He dribbled again. No call as made. Properly called, possession would have gone to Auburn and the play out would likely have ended the game with Auburn ahead and winning.

Thanks, I understand. It doesn't matter if the player loses control. Once he picks the ball up with two hands then he must pass the ball.

Thanks for that added point. If the Auburn player had touched the ball then it would renew the player from Virginia to be able to dribble. I can see where I got the rule wrong.

I missed it. I thought the Auburn player had reached across his front and knocked the ball away and off his calf. It wasn't until I saw the replay after that I realized it was a double dribble. It's too bad, but I understand how the call was missed. You have to take into consideration that it happened in real time, with the ref responsible for that call looking at it from floor level, and with the offensive player between him and the defender. He missed it for sure, but I don't see it as something that was egregious.

Something that's getting lost in the conversation surrounding the call is that Auburn missed free throws on its last two possessions as I recall. If they go into that last VA possession up four or five as they could have, Guy's attempt at the three is meaningless. Instead, Auburn commits a bad foul, Guy drains three free throws, and Auburn loses. Terrible break for Auburn, but sometimes those things happen.
I am learning a lot today. You make a great point in that the ref probably thought the ball was dislodged from the Virginia player. Of course in slow motion we can see it was not touched. But in real time it might have been a lot harder.

Texas Tech is nothing more than a team of mercenaries.
The term "mercenary", and forms of it, is often used derogatorily to refer to any hireling.

Cheering for them is like going to your local gym and cheering for a random team in a pickup game.
Here, I compare cheering for the collection of hirelings to cheering for any random group of basketball players to whom you would also have no connection.

I'm VERY surprised I had to explain that.

I suggest that in future, you station yourself outside the arena at Texas Tech and warn those folks that they shouldn't go in and support their team. They'll listen to you, don't you think? Ever been to the West Texas plains? Its a great place to get yer ass kicked real good.
That would be my ONLY reason for visiting Lubbock, I tell you that.

Better get used to the concept "Earl". With the Transfer Portal you're going to see more teams put together like TT than not.
one could argue that a coach would have a more successful program by adding 3 grad transfers each season than adding 3 top 50 recruits. this is the future of college basketball

no. or an airball either

To me, any other team besides IU is a random group of basketball players to whom I have no connection. I don't see why that means I can't have a favorite if IU is not in contention.
